I need to get a pair of weightlifting shoes. I have some questions about this:

>Is there a specific website to find second hand shoes besides ebay etc.?

>Would I need other shoes to do deadlifts in? Should I just do them barefoot?

>How far does quality matter, i.e. can I buy the cheapest and as long as they have that sweet flat sole and that sweet high heel will it be just as good as some more expensive ones?

>How will I find out when adidas has its next sale on and will there be any significant reductions to its prices?

>Is adidas' official website even the best place to get shoes?

Thanks.

>inb4 i am a stubborn and ignorant cunt just use ur bare feet lol

I just got myself a pair of powerlift 2.0s on Adidas' website. If you sign up for their newsletter they'll send you a 15% off coupon.
>>
You'll be able to squat 100kg fine in any shoe you fuccboi.

Just pick one, they're all the same.

Thanks this is great advice, thanks

>>36654540
you're a fuccboi
I am squatting 120kg, think it's about time I need them particularly because my mobility is poor and I squat in running shoes with plates on my heels. I know it's dumb but I am reluctant to spend money and have been putting off buying a pair for ages. Anyway it's time i need to get some.
>>
Just go barefoot you baby.

misread your comment

ok i'll take it into consideration thanks
>>
>>36654582
Ohhh 120 kg sorry bud. I should have known you were moving big boy weights
>>
>>36654591
i was not intending to portray the weight in which i lift as something of significance, i was instead trying to contextualise my questions
>>
>>36654582
If you can't squat with good form don't get oly shoes, fix your mobility first you dumb fuck. You shouldn't need oly shoes to high bar or even front squat, they help but you should still be flexible enough to do it without them.

I've used a pair of basic slip on skate shoe like this for about 10 years. Flat & has a thin solid sole. Slips off if I want to go bare foot for pulls. Cost me like $10.

Good point but I think my mobility is decent now after three months of static stretching, with my heels on plates I can do a pretty decent squat. With oly shoes I will be able to press of a flat surface rather than shitty plates and it will definitely help my squat. If I were to wait until my mobility was better and then buy some then why not just buy them now? I am going to continue static stretching and improving my mobility.

>>36655187
Seems like a good thing to buy for deadlifts, but I think the raised heel would be very beneficial for squat. Thanks

Will literally take 2-4 weeks if you stretch twice a day as prescribed in the Greg Everett book. I can squat to full depth barefoot even overhead squats if I keep it all tight and I have shit mobility compared to actual lifters. Just stretch and use your new oly shoes, do dynamic stretching too as status is piss poor for flexability. I hope you just got do wins or something bro.

Look for soleus stretches, I can guarantee you it is tight. Probably your hamstrings also.

You can literally but half a dozen different shoes at Walmart flat enough for squatting for like 10 bucks new. Shitting quality but you aren't running marathons in them so go get a fucking pair.

op asked for lifting shoes not trash meme shoes

lifting shoes are objectively superior so fuck off you poor faggot
>>
I have PP2s from a few years back. Still basically mint condition.

They're amazing but I personally regret buying them because Nike's Romaleo designs are sexier. The white Romaleo 2s are just gorgeous. £75 extra though.
>>
>>36654518
i used to deadlift in adipowers until a gymbro savior swooped down and suggested i try a set barefoot. i did and never looked back - using a ragged old pair of chucks with an almost completely compressed sole to DL in now, feels way better.
>>
>>36656416

> eager to believe marketing hypes

Lifting shoes are just shoes with a flat, flexible sole. That's fucking it. If you want to buy $ 300 "powerlift klokov no homo approved 2.0 intensity adidas" shoes be my guest. But if you do, you're a gullible faggot.
>>
>>36656474

they have 1.5 in raised heel that lowers pressure on your ankle providing much better stability

this helps a lot of people, me n my housemate included, reach full depth with squat
>>
>>36654518
Before you buy - make sure you actually will benefit from them. I am 6' 4" and my ankle flexibility is good. Heels make squatting miserable for me so I prefer to wear Asics Hyper Throws. Rock solid bottom, meta-tarsal strap but flat. They fooking rock!
>>
>>36656492

ATG has everything to do with hip flexibility. Hell, I can even squat in Nike Air max and go full ATG. But that feels just weird and unnatural, so cheap ass chucks it is.
>>
>>36655874
Hey do you have a link to the pdf of that Greg Everett book?

Adidas powerlifts are a good budget shoe. Budget is not meant to imply bad - people have won competitions in them. You can get them from Amazon.

Yes, you reach depth in a squat easier with weightlifting shoes. But this is not the only benefit. They have arch support so your foot doesn't roll around while you lift.

Some people like to deadlift in heels. Most don't. Heels increase your range of motion a little and recruit your quads a bit more. If you don't use heels try a flat shoe like wrestling boots or chucks.

Besides squats, they're good for pressing in too.

Weightlifting shoes are made for weightlifting.

If you're weightlifting, you need weightlifting shoes.

It's really that simple. Yeah, you can probably do snatch and Clean and jerk without them. But even with good flexibility, you're going to have to catch them higher and it puts more stress on your ankles than otherwise.

If you're just squatting for whatever, then yeah, anything hard and flat works, unless you really want to maximize your depth.

Don't be ignorant. They have their purpose.

I love my Adidas power perfect II's. They're so much better than just squatting barefoot. For like 80 or 90 dollar they aren't even expensive but definitely solid quality. They will last you for years and you'll enjoy them every workout you are squatting.
My mate has the Adidas powerlift 2.0 shoes and is also very satisfied with his, they're about the same price tho more targeted towards powerlifting rather than oly.
