Eat more than maintenance and lots of carbs when you lift heavy. legs back etc
Eat a bit more than maintenance and some carbs on lighter lifting days arms and such.
Eat less than maintenance on no lift days and eat no carbs, as few carbs as possible.
Count you macros like an absolute autist and do cardio or hiit on your off days.
Then kill yourself.

Intermittent fasting is real. Insulin / glucagon levels are critical for insuring blood glucose goes to muscles not fat cells. Fastest method is to hold off having breakfast until after noon, and eating a proper main meal after working out.
>>
>>36643390
>meal timing is 'critically important'
/fit/ strikes again
>>
>>36642653
>No, you can’t do both at the same time - at least not unless you’re a total beginner (for a short while), using steroids, or willing to wait a decade to see significant changes. The body just does not do that. If you want to stay lean while gaining muscle, you need to do two things: eat a lot of protein and exercise.
the sticky strikes again

As of my own experience you dont loose strength but you dont gain any. Also you might be more fatigued and take longer time recovering.

Good luck burning stored fat after raising insulin levels
>>
Been cutting since 22th january. Down 9kg from 98kg to 89kg at 187cm.
Stats:
DL >190>195kg
Flat bench 107,5>107,5
The press 62,5>60
Pendlay rows 80>80
Dont know about my squat as Ive replaced back with front.

Seems very much possible.
>>
>>36643572
No offence bro but that doesn't sound like your cutting. Sure you didn't eat as much but are you really going below your bmr?
>>
>>36643349
I would also strongly recommend a routine of 100 pushups 100 situps and 100 squats a day.
Then run a bit i dont know.
>>

>loses 20 pounds in ~3 months

>>36643592
You go below your TDEE not your bmr you fuck.
>>
I'm cutting while cruising and hit a squat pr of 355 (herniated disc) yesterday. Only thing that's deficient is my grip strength and possibly my press. PR'd 330 on bench 2 days ago.
Meal timing is technically a meme as far as gaining/losing weight but it helps tremendously with your workouts. Granted I hit my squat pr after not eating 12-14hrs, but that was pure willpower.

Guess you've never seen how fast obese teens /early 20s can lose weight. Hint: very

http://bayesianbodybuilding.com/gain-muscle-and-lose-fat-at-the-same-time/

Yes it is possible. And it's overwhelmingly proven in studies. A few youtube fitness guys learned the word thermodynamics and suddenly it became standard to believe you can't. Even though basically every study shows you can and there are a million anecdotal examples of people that have lost fat and got much stronger at the same time.
>>
>>36643743
Oh ffs meal timing is not a meme. It's not going to matter to you because your taking exogenous testosterone. Test promotes lipoylsis all the time, glucagon only does that at low insulin. Running steroids is cranking up your bmr way beyond normal whether you exercise or not

And this is why the majority of /fit/ is dyel.
>>
>>36643572
I'm guessing you were over 20%? Cutting is much easier when you're really fat. Cutting bellow 15% is where the real muscle loss happens.

Yes OP, eat no carbs while you are recovering. Why would you need those?
>>
>>36644359
Also cinnamon mixed with honey, at least 8 spoons a day. very healthy dont you know?

How is fasting going to help gain muscle weight for someone who was naturally skinny all his life?
>>
>>36644451
>2013+3
>not knowing the key to gains is dont eat shit.
>>
>>36644426
hey, they asked about losing fat and gaining muscle at the same time, ask a stupid question.
Now, what I said does work for this goal, its just probably worse than a more drastic cut followed by bulking.

I dont buy into the low carb for long periods of time meme, cannot be good for the liver.
>>
>>36644451
Kid this thread is for gains while cutting. If you're already skinny then you don't need to cut. I worry for your reading comprehension senpai
>>
>>36644451
This is a cutting thread, go eat chicken and lots of it.

Do you not understand cico?
>>
>>36644561
Yeah I do I , also understand how hormones affect where the body decides to store calories
>>
>>36644422
Of course it works for you, how could you lose muscle if you didn't have any in the first place?
>>
>>36642653
lad pls stop saving my rare webms then using it to ask beginner shit pls
>>
>>36642653
hey OP, currently just finishing up my cut. I've lost 15lbs since November and my strength has stayed about constant

the fact is: you are going to lose some muscle during your cut. But you CAN minimize this loss by taking it as slow as possible while training as hard as you can.

Eat lots of protein. I mean LOTS. I'm currently eating 1g/lb BW + 60 in an attempt to preserve muscle.

Be very careful with the deficit you run. Yeah a 1000cal deficit will make you shed weight really quickly, but you'll lose a ton of muscle as well. Eating at a slight deficit will take longer, but you'll keep most of your muscle.

Don't expect any new strength gains - if they happen, that's great, but more than likely you'll be lifting the same weights (or less) until you start maintaining again

godspeed
>>
>>36642653
You shouldn't have become fat in the first place
>>
>>36644666

I do generally agree with what this anon said - he's my gym bro irl

However, I went to the opposite way of him,

>started cutting Jan
>late feb almost 6pack, from almost nopack
>max bench dropped 15lbs,

Then I went on a 500kcal surplus for about 12 days, gained about 10lbs in waterweight

>added 25lbs to bench
>still way leaner than at max bulk,

It's up to you OP
