It varies based on the survey. Either way, 5 9 is still in 1 standard deviation of the mean, aka not short. From experience as a 5'9 guy, the funniest thing is that I have no problem with 5'3 to 5'10 girls, but it's the really short ones, like 5'0 to 5'2 that don't like my height. It's weird, but whatever.
