Rotated the photo because OP is a stupid cuck who unironically fell for the planet fitness meme and his mom probably drank while she was pregnant with him, that's why he's such a stupid low-test beta millennial nu-male cuckshit who can't even TAKE A SIMPLE FUCKING PICTURE RIGHT

>>
>>36596440
PF's vary from area to area but I have a friend who's still there until his membership runs out in June (he's pinching his pennies).

According to him, there's no power cage/rack and no deadlifting. It's all just one big cardiofarm + curlbro-center.

OP didn't buy a product. He rented a product. The transference of his rental to a new gym - so long as the value is equitable - seems at least partially understandable to me.

The obvious path is to survey the new gym and see if the facilities are to his liking. If they aren't, I believe he should cancel his membership. If they are, I don't really see the harm in what's been done.

That being said, it's a bit unusual to 'transfer' a membership.

That post earned you a free helicopter ride, my friend.

What's "valuable" to OP might not be "valuable" to some pencil-neck nu-male cuck working in a civil court (i.e.: a power rack + diddlylift area vs. "FREE SHIRT" and tanning booth). For example, I don't personally think that a membership to PF is "as equitably valuable" as a membership to, say, Gold's Gym.
>>
>>36596759
this. My plan was to go for like a week just to see if it's worth it or not. Wanted outside opinions
>>
>>36596802

I think you're roleplaying way too hard. So long as the facilities are to his liking there shouldn't be a problem. Planet Fitness is franchised, and it doesn't take much equipment to properly furnish a workout.
>>
>>36596759
1. if they're going to "transfer" you that should be an option and you should be ASKED whether you WANT IT
2. if he "rented a product" like you said and they'll no longer offer "the product" then they shouldn't "cancel his membership", they should give the MONEY BACK

who the fuck cares about what YOU THINK is "partially understandable", YOU FUCKING NU-MALE???
>>
>>36596816

If they made you pay any kind of initial membership fee or something, you should look into getting that money back, or ask if they're waiving those fees for the new gym membership.
>>
>>36596821
>I think you're roleplaying way too hard.
Not an argument.

>>36596821
>So long as the facilities are to his liking there shouldn't be a problem.
I thought you originally said "so long as the value is equitable"? Which one is it?

>Planet Fitness is franchised, and it doesn't take much equipment to properly furnish a workout.
Okay, and what happens when they don't want to "furnish" a power cage/rack?
>>
>>36596825

>2. if he "rented a product" like you said and they'll no longer offer "the product" then they shouldn't "cancel his membership", they should give the MONEY BACK

There's no money to give back. The note itself suggests that the membership will be transferred on the next billing cycle (the first).

>>36596816
sure. then they'll just tell you you're a confirmed planet fitness customer and you'll be subject to their refund policy. that's EXACTLY what you DON'T WANT. you want to GET YOUR MONEY BACK FROM YOUR OLD GYM.
anyway, if you can't grasp these things by yourself, do whatever the fuck you want.
>>
>>36596862
>I thought you originally said "so long as the value is equitable"? Which one is it?

If the facilities are to his liking and his workout is properly furnished, the value is functionally equitable. Obviously, no two things will ever be entirely "equal". This is sophistry.

>Okay, and what happens when they don't want to "furnish" a power cage/rack?

That probably won't happen. In any case, I already gave you the framework with which you could have easily answered that question

>The obvious path is to survey the new gym and see if the facilities are to his liking. If they aren't, I believe he should cancel his membership

>Not an argument.

Still not an argument.

I guess that must mean the other 2 guys and OP "aren't worth arguing with" since you can't back up your half-baked jewish millennial legalese "logic" as to why OP should just let these people cuck him out of his gym membership

>>36596888
Nye's digits, but "cringe" and slapping the word "pseudo" in front of something isn't an argument.

As for the rest of your post, OP's already stipulated that his workout wouldn't be properly furnished if he didn't have access to a power cage/rack.

sure, "the note suggests that the membership will be transferred to the next billing cycle". he also didn't contract a PLANET FITNESS GYM MEMBERSHIP. and if he was to, he'd have done it at PLANET FITNESS not at his old gym.
i know this is difficult for you to understand, but his old gym is just trying to RUN WITH THEIR OLD CUSTOMERS' MONEY.
>>
Check it out. I've heard some still have squat racks/power racks/ etc. However, I think they only carry dumbbells up to 50 or so and there is a rule against dropping weights (which honestly you shouldn't have to do that often unless you are a fucking olympic weightlifter).

If I were you I would find a powerlifting type gym in your area. Foudn thishttp://www.sharpesgymfitness.com/ There were like three other on powerliftingwatch.com but I'm unsure how close they are to Sioux Falls.

>OP's already stipulated that his workout wouldn't be properly furnished if he didn't have access to a power cage/rack.

That doesn't actually help your argument, though. The argument isn't whether or not there is a theoretical scenario in which OP would be justified in canceling his membership (which I explicitly stated on multiple occasions would occur if the equipment was not furnished for his workout), it's whether or not there is a scenario where OP shouldn't cancel his membership, roughly based on the question of whether or not the value is equitable.

>but "cringe" and slapping the word "pseudo" in front of something isn't an argument

Right; that's why I explicitly stated I was insulting you. I feel like you've a couple standard deviations short of what you're trying to accomplish here.

>ad hominem

As a final point, this is yet another phrase you don't understand. A simple insult is not an ad hominem argument. An ad hominem argument is a specific logical convention that is contingent on the rules of logic, not the rules of debate. It isn't logically fallacious to simply insult someone; even in debate. An ad hominem follows this syllogistic format;

X asserts Y.
But X is wrong about Y because X is a fag.

To simply truncate that and say "X is a fag", or "X is wrong about Y; he's also a fag" it's a breach of any logical rule.

>>36596927
>but his old gym is just trying to RUN WITH THEIR OLD CUSTOMERS' MONEY.

I don't think you understand what this phrase means. The services contracted were already rendered. His old gym owes him nothing.
>>
>>36596934

There are two no-no's that will likely vary depending on franchisee;

The existence of a power rack, and the ability to deadlift.

Many PF's allow both. Some don't.
>>
>>36596988
A membership fee generally implies a length of contract. I would say a year minimum. Probably 2, as many gyms require you to stay for 2 years before you can leave without penalty.

As such there is a long term contract that the gym must adhere to, or they must refund the money paid them. Not the monthly cost, but the membership fee, and if applicable any equipment fees.
