hi guys
i am 6'1 @273lbs
am i too heavy for running?
Not really, but i would recommend using an elliptical machine until you are a lower weight so you don;t stress your joints too much

>>36595006
OP again
i did 3,54km/2,2 miles in 29:38 today
how shamefur is my dispray
>>36595028
Did you do the best you could? Then it's fine. Your times will go down, just keep putting in the work.
>>36594984
i'm 6'2 and never run unless im under 215.
So many better things to do than to run at that point. You running to lose weight? Cut something in your diet. Running is optional, far from needed.
>>36595028
Not at all, do as best you can each time and try and improve over time.
Also, make sure your diet is good and you'll be on the right path.
>>36595040
yes i was totally wrecked afterwards
>>36595028
>>36595050
yes i do it for improving my endurance and losing weight
i was a landwhale for 27 years and am already down 30kg/66lbs. recently my weightloss plateaued for half a year and i dont know why so i decided to pick up running
>>36595106
You stalled because you burn less a day the less you weigh, so if you lost 30kg and eat like you did 30kg ago then... eat less :)
I went 255-220 before I started exercise, and even then it was only weightlifting. down to 207 now. it's all diet, baby.
>>36595127
well i think i have an eating disorder. what can i do?
>>36595175
In what sense? You have a long way to go but made good progress already.
>>36595190
i switch between phases of basically intermittent fasting at high deficits and phases of stuffing my face 24/7 with everything i can find unconciously
>>36595236
That sucks. I do intermittent fasting everyday. 7 days a week every week. helps setting my diet in control.
>>36595236
that means the most important thing you do is solving your eating disorder problem. i wouldn't look past cardio and lifting weights - but those things can be disregarded; your lifting disorder NEEDS to be solved.
by the way, both periods you go through are bad. i don't know how you're going to schedule it yourself, but have cheat meals SCHEDULED every few days. that's how you implement shitty food into a healthy lifestyle.

This seems like a relevant thread for this. I've had mild concerns about running's impacts on my knees.
I'm 175 lbs (+/- 10 lbs depending on season, condition, etc.) but run pretty hard/long. Last summer I was running 4.5 miles a day on hard packed dirt roads with my dog at least 5 days a week and plan to again this summer.
I will say I've NEVER had knew pain though which I guess is a good sign but obviously doesn't mean I'm not potentially messing my stuff up.
5'7" 166 pounds here. Last year, only did running when I was about 190 (heaviest I've ever been) and for 3 months, I had the absolute worst shin pain I've ever experienced day-in and day-out. It went away with time and I can run about 6.5km in 35 mins. Not amazing, but with time, you'll get better at running and it won't feel like hell.
I have shin splints that literally won't heal. I haven't ran in a month.
I guess even just walking can hinder the healing process, and I work 10 hour shifts 4 days a week mostly on my feet.
What the fuck bruhs.
Why won't my shins heal?
I stretch 2-3 times a day, and massage them.
>>36595380
Took me a month to heal with very little walking. Your 10 hour shifts are fucking your shin recovery.
H-how do you protect your nipples?
this thing is considered a runner OP so i dont see why you cant
>>36595399
bandaids
>>36595419
>3 reasons your weight doesn't matter.
Ignoring the fact that women has a much higher chance of getting joint injuries, that turd of baloney is way too fat to run.
>>36595396
I got a bike to keep healthy.
I guess I'll just have to keep Fucking waiting.
Going to get new shoes and start slow as fuck when the tenderness is completely gone.
This Fucking sucks bro.
Is there any sterons that would heal my shit?
I know Anavar is good for muscle recovery, and can help heal tendons.
I wonder if it would work for shin splints.
>>36595380
Mine took about 3 months, couldn't even go upstairs sometimes. I even alternated days to see if my legs would stop hurting and take longer breaks, but nope. But one day, I went on a run, and it was just gone. Good luck though.
Here's a happy shibe to motivate you.
>>36595447
Biking is underrated on the internet, probably because most are americans.
You never mentioned if you were overweight. I'd stay away from running even after it's done healing for a month or so. No point getting unjuried 2 weeks after you just healed.
>>36595399
Cover them with band aids before you go on your run.
>>36595472
Nah I don't think I'm overweight.
5'9" 170lbs probably 15-16% body fat.
It's horse shit man I used to be able to go on 45 minute runs 3-4 times a week and now I can't do shit.
It's 91° and I still ran. Hell yeah me
>>36595106
>recently my weightloss plateaued for half a year and i dont know why
Fucking seriously? You don't know why?........
is it autistic to high five random runners i run across?
>>36595399
>tfw into S&M
>tfw pierced nips
>tfw ultimate pleasure and pain
>>36595892
I do that too. At least a head nod.
>>36594984
Anyone got any good resources on running cycles?
Thinking of doing 20+ min runs after my workouts. Gotta get /fit/ for the military
