Pretty good.

Tiny bit of early arm bend, hesitancy going into the hole on the catch (mobility issue?) on the clean. Your elbows go way down as you dip for the jerk - keep them up. Bar also goes forwards, which is why your catch is off balance. Feet might be too narrow in the split but a bit hard to tell from the angle.

so typically its normal for first years to have around:

105kg --> 120/155
94 --> 110/145
85 --> 100/135
77 --> 90/125
69 --> 80/115

this is the easy part and most people who train thoroughly reach this level

2nd year adds 20kg to snatch and 17.5 to CJ
3rd year adds both by 15kg
4th year adds 10kg to snatch and 12.5 kg to CJ

you should aim to add 2kg every 2 months

some people have faster progress than this

most people have a lot slower progress because lack of coaching, technical training, bad programming, injuries, and etc

I feel this is only really applicable to a person with ideal circumstances like top coaching, good gym, and not having to work a job that is demanding.

Also alot of us here start late. I guess it's useful as a guide for rate of progression if not the same numbers?

I'm happy to read I power snatch what's expected, but that is also my max full cos I power anything heavy, gotta fix that. C&j feels well out of reach. Squat needs to be a bit higher too.

Well I always thought it was bullshit because I had always squatted with a full belly of air, chest up, and just over all staying tight during the entire movement. However I had recently started to get pretty noticeable back pain, so I just said fuck it and went against all "western" logic about squatting.

No big breath, just a normal breath, no tensing upper back, no tensing lower back, I just went down and didn't think at all about using any muscles to stay upright or anything... and would you have it : felt perfect. I've probably never felt so balanced and in control of my quads, and most importantly as I started to "fold over" instead of starting a good morning, my abs and lower back contracted naturally to stop the folding over. My quads, lower back, glutes, and abs all were burning by the end of my 8th set of 3 reps, as opposed to the normal slight ache in my back, and a slight burn in my quads.

Also, I think it's silly to say most PLers dont deadlift outside comp. Although usually they dont do it as much as they squat...

A classic kind of 3x a week fullbody PL program is
Day 1: Squat + Bench + Accesories (Squat focus)
Day 2: Deadlift + Accesories (DL focus)
Day 3: Bench + Squat + Accesories (Bench focus)

Some deadlift and squat 50/50 though. But I've also found my deadlifting strength to have gone up just doing cleans/snatches while squatting.

But yes, most WLers just do lots of squats (even front squats work the hamstrings/glutes/low back well, more than you'd think at least.) And then they do RDLs and GMs as accesories (they moreso use it for low back than hams and w/e tho Id say desu).

Heavy pulls also keep the posterior and anterior balanced, probably the most depending on how much pulling you do.

So I would say to at least retract them at the top, and on the way up, based on that logic.

Need help lads

When I get up towards weights I feel a bit scared of (90%+) when I jerk and snatch I stop hearing such an audible stamp, and in the snatch I stop picking up my feet so much

Is this normal? Is this bad? What can I do to fix if so? Just getting more brave?

I would say no, not per se. It will help your clean technique, at least the pull.

It will not help you catch weights low and stay strong catching (and recovering) them. Which is essential to cleaning big weights efficiently and effectively.

It's not uncommon for people who have done nothing but power cleans (especially plus little front squatting) to power clean more than they can squat clean.
