I have been overweight most of my life, never really looked it, recently got depression, never left house, gained weight and now I have major stretch marks everywhere, arms, thighs, stomach, boobs, butt, ugh.

Your motivation comes from within if you wanna git gud at losing weight.

If you lost 4lbs after just walking your doggo for a month then keep that in mind whenever you need motivation. You can obviously lose weight by proper diet and exercise if you've already seen quantifiable results from just walking.

Exercising becomes a habit within a couple of months, easy.
Your appetite changes over time and your stomach gets used to not being so full- likewise for overeating.

Start a physical training program and stick with it.
This is a book on cognitive behavioural therapy, which is very useful for anxiety and depression.

Hey!
First of all is there any exercise you like doing? For example dancing, swimming, running etc? It's best to try doing exercise that you actually enjoy because then you are most likely gonna stick to it and continue doing it.

I would highly suggest trying to find a job so you can afford the gym for the best results in terms of weight loss, and also a job so you can buy healthy food, but I understand that might not be possible.

So I would highly suggest just going for walks around your neighbourhood, parks etc. Take your favourite music with you, podcasts, whatever to make it more enjoyable.
Start by just walking, with different goals for each time as for distance etc. Slowly increase the distance, and start working your way up to making these walks into jogs. Then eventually into runs. Try do this everyday!

Also if you have a space like a garage or spare room or whatever, and can afford to buy small weights etc, there are a ton of at home work outs you can download online and whatever to also do...

And as for the stretchmarks, use cocoa butter or bio oil everyday and they will start to fade away.

And as for the food, just try do the best you can, maybe suggest you will cook dinner if your mum buys the ingredients and cook something healthy instead, try sneak some healthy habits into your family...

I gained 15kg in a span of about a year, and I did a bunch of walking/running and at home work outs before I joined a gym and got enough confidence to work out at a gym.

Here are a few tips simple tips. The more of them you do, the more efficient your weight loss will be:

>go to bed on an empty stomach, and sleep for as long as possible

Hard work and dedication always pays off. Weight yourself every morning so that the constant weightloss motivates you to keep doing. Track you weight in a journal or something.

Lastly, people will flame me for this but whatever; as a woman, being attractive and fit is extremely important, WAY more than for a man. The hotter you are, the easier and better your life will be. Quality, respectable men will line up to date you. You will never be alone and someone will always have your back.

You need to also read the sticky all the way, especially the parts about diet and nutrition. Watch your macronutrients (proteins, fats, carbs) and learn the caloric value of each.

You can eat healthy if you cook for yourself and not eat unflavored gruel every day; even if you're on a budget. Rice, chicken/tuna/fish, veggies + fruits, whole grains, protein shakes, and even soy and tofu since you're a chick.

Example of a healthy meal would be something like grilled skinless chicken breast with mango-onion-pineapple (chopped) on top with a side of rice and some whole grain bread of some kind + a salad

lurk moar here and you'll learn about the basics of diet.

oh and another piece of advice, don't trust anyone's advice, be it from a personal trainer, random guy in the gym, friend, online article, magazine (worst of the worst), UNLESS THEY KNOW YOUR GOALS AND TRAINING ROUTINE, and even then, take it with a pinch of salt. i have literally never had advice from anyone in person, ever, that was relevant to me, except from my friend who i train with.

also read the sticky, absorb as muich info as you can. the sticky is unfortunately very strength/mass training based and is ideal for most men but for people wanting to lose weight, your diet is the only factor that truly matters, the rest is icing on the cake.
