did ramped sets of 4x3 backsquat, would've done a fifth set if I didn't have to go.

i just wanted to squat clean it, idk. i catched it lower on some if my other cleans and didnt just power clean it and front squat it. but its hard when its so damn light. i just dont want to get into the habit of powering it. my power clean is not too far off from my squat clean. im pretty much only limited by my front squat in the clean.

sort of like asking why split jerk it when you can power jerk it (which i can). theyre just diff moves and i want to train the movement pattern for that movement (even if i did do a shit job by catching it high..)

Can someone critique my program I've drawn up? Its mainly based off of pendlay's beginner program. I've had adequate practice with all the lifts as I played football until my sophomore year of university and have been around quite a few knowledgeable strength coaches.

Watch Klokov's seminars on youtube. He does a great job of teaching stuff, giving basic cues, and how to avoid common mistakes.

As for the reps/sets, you want to do 3x5 for most of the strength training, and sets of 1-5 (mostly 3) for technique training or the full c&j and snatch.

I'd recommend doing strength lifts first, and then technique/balance work after.

I'd recommend you also start incorporating the jerk, at least in form of drills like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf6xwLbXiRc

I'd say you should focus on increasing your strength lifts first while working on technique for the comp lifts, and only really worry about increasing your comp lifts numbers later down the road. Keep in mind your back squat is gonna drive progress in pretty much everything.

Later down the road you will also want to start increasing your frequency to 4-5 days per week. This will allow you to have dedicated days for technique and strength training. It can take some time to adjust/adapt to it, though, and make sure you're feeding yourself with enough energy and nutrients.

WORK ON YOUR MOBILITY! Specially ankle, triceps, and wrist mobility. Hip mobility too if you're too tight.

You dont have a coach? Are you just putting your openers in on the day?

Put your openers down as something you know you can do, even if it's low. Then warm up with doubles and singles to opener. If you feel good, open higher.

First meet though, you just should learn from it and get a total.

The power position is pretty simple lad, get into it right now, I'll help you do it.

Stand relaxed, now bend your knees a little and jump straight up, not too high, just a little hop, stomp the landing, now that you've landed, see where your feet are? That's where your feet will be for the power position.

Now bend your knees as if you're going to do another little jump, but pause at the bottom, don't jump, you're in the power position.

It may not be the perfect position for you but this will hopefully get your started, you can alter where exactly your feet are, and other little details like that as you go.

trying to cut down to 77kg from 84kg. i'm doing leangains/if. i'm used to fasting, so it's not difficult for me to fast for long periods. essentially, my only feeding window is from 7-10pm.

i'm doing -30/-10. so i should be eating ~2900 calories, 200g protein, 270g carb, and 120g fat.

i'm currently at 2110 calories, 195 g protein, 224g carb, 53g fat.

i'm pretty full. and could easily call it a day. is it bad that i'll be under? i mean, i /am/ cutting..

you can jump and land at the same stance if all you're doing is jumping

with snatches you want your feet to land where you're comfortable squatting

and most people would have a stronger pull with a narrower stance compared to a wider stance
