Yes, to building strength and muscles.
Sort of for accelerating fat loss, but not really. Like, here's the issue. Humans have adapted to the world to be EXTREMELY efficient when it comes to how much energy we expend doing activity. So much so that it's kind of pointless to use lifting/cardio as a way to loss fat. Yes it helps, but it's really ineffective. The most effective way to loss fat is to simply eat less.
Once you learn calories from food, and how much calories you really burn from activity, you will soon realize you can literally eat back 1 hour of cardio or lifting, within 30 seconds of eating. Hence why, it's just better to put the fork down, and focus on mostly eating only what you need to eat, and not what you want.

this is pretty accurate, although personally I have noticed that high volume lifting routines allow me to eat a whole lot more without gaining weight than low volume routines

If you eat the exact same amount of food but do compound lifts 3 times a week you'll gain strength and lose fat
