There are two Johnny Bravos.
Early seasons, he was pretty cool and it didn't make much sense why he got rejected so badly. It sort of became clear that the authors of the show just wanted to teach boys not to be "chauvinistic pigs" toward women, that it doesn't pay off.
However, since women like these sort of men, they made Johnny a full retard in later seasons, making him oblivious about women, relationships, sex, communication and everything else.
