For a 20 year old, male adult, what would you consider 'being in shape'? are there any set parameters I should be able to hit? Number of pushups or pull ups, mile time or endurance?
>>
>>36536534
100 pushups
30 pullups
30 weighted dips
100 bench dips
sub 6:30 mile jog/run
ability to do 45+ minutes of cardio with relative ease

these are pretty strict but that's my 'in shape'
>>
>>36536557

A 6:30 mile isn't in shape
>>
200kg deadlift
>>
>>36536557
>30 weighted dips
>Doesn't say how much weight
Yeah man also 3x8 weighted benchpresses is a good standard of strength
>>
>>36536557
In a row?
>>
>>36536595
notice I said sub and job familia
>>
100 pushups?... you can do a 100 "lightly".. because doing this right makes it impossible to do a real 100. Try doing a 100 push-ups slow; that is all the way up, back straight, going down slow.. you probably will do 40-50 if in very good shape, 100 is impossible if you do it the right way.
>>
>>36536678
I mean really anything above body weight at 30 with full extension being completed in one set with reasonable little stress is good and it would be stupid to name a specific weight because not everyone is a weight lifter and asking a 5'9 155 pound body weight and cardio dude to use the same weight as a 6'4 220 weight lifter is just stupid
>>
>>36536804
if you extend and contract slowly enough any body weight shit can become very difficult, but if you think 100 push ups with proper form is impossible you have very low standards
>>
>>36536534
1/2/3/4
Sub 23 min 5k
Sub 50 BPM resting heart rate
>>
>>36536595
>A 6:30 mile isn't in shape
Lol ok
>>
>>36536595
Spotted the skele
>>
>>36536534
50 or less bpm
>>
>>36536595
according to the U.S. military you only need to hold an 8:15 pace for two miles to be
"in shape"
>>
>>36536830
It's not impossible, but few people who aren't dedicated specifically to training for that would be able to do it.
>>
>>36537877
Depends on your age.
>>
>>36536979
I would say this, except with sub-65 bmp resting heart rate and the addendum of blood pressure less than 120/80 resting and a maximum of 20% bodyfat.
>>
>>36538315
that's the fastest age group: 17-21, which I'm assuming is most of /fit/
>>
>>36536534

I think 5km run in 25 minutes or less.

1/2/3/4 for weights.

bw + 20% of your bw for 10+ reps as pull ups.

sub 16% body fat.
>>
>>36536534
If you can run 2.4km in under 10 minutes, do 30 strict push ups and 10 strict pull ups you're probably in shape for your age. It depends on your body though.
>>
>>36536979
My resting heart rate is around 90, is that bad? I'm 22
>>
>>36538950

Yeah, that's actually pretty bad. Time to step up the cardio and cut down on stimulants.
>>
>>36536534
All lifts bodyweight, and 15% or less bodyfat. You should also be able to sprint for 10 minutes without stopping
>>
>>36539386
>sprint
>10 minutes

...You almost got me.
>>
>>36536534
To be fit enough that the majority of people would describe you as athletic I think:
12 second 100
6:30 mile
2xbw squat
1.5x bw bench
20 chin ups
>>
6 minute mile.
90 push-ups in 2 minutes
75 sit-ups in 2 minutes
That's what I could do when I was 20
>>
>>36536804
I don't think fast pushups are worse than going slow anyways, I value the explosive power from doing a push up fast both up and down then being able to do a zillion really slow. I know they can be harder to do that slow but I'd rather have explosive power of 40.
>>
>>36536557

6.30 mile is way easier than 30 pull-ups or 100 push ups for a normie.
>>
>>36536557
Do you come from an indigenous tribe or something?
>>
>>36538950
That's horrible. Pic related.
>>
>>36540439
>thought i'd be in the good range at least
>average
fug
time to step up on dat dere hiit
>>
>>36540439
oh man i'm fucked, how do i fix this? hiit?
>>
>>36536534
Any 3 of the following
>visible abs
>sub 13s 100m
>sub 25 min 5k
>2x/1.5x/2.5x bodyweight stats
>bw snatch, 1.5bw cnj
>20 strict chinups/pull ups
>free handstand
I guess these?
>>
>>36540439
>tfw I have between athlete and good and I barely do physical activity besides a little lifting
>>
>>36540439
>66
>Not even good
Fuck, I thought I would have less than 1 per second (59 max)
How do I incorporate hiit in my routine without hindering my squat progress? I do LUxLUxx.
HIIT at the end of L days?
>>
>>36540439
>thought i would be on the bad side of things
>56

feelsgoodman.jpg
>>
>>36540547
Do really light cardio or hiit in short spurts like 10 mins on one or 2 rest days. Then gradually increase the length of the sessions or amount of sessions per week.
>>
>>36536534
google army fitness test
if your fit enough to be in the army and your BF is in the normal range your probably OK
>>
>>36540439
>65 today
got it down into the low 50s a few years ago training for a marathon
not bad for a fatass
>>
>>36536595
it's seriously fine/respectable.

nicebait
>>
>>36540439

Age: 33
Heartrate: 57

I honestly thought I was in pretty good shape for my age. Turns out, not even bad athlete.
>>
>>36536595
