I got this weird thin spot on the top of my head that you can only see when i shave my head short (like a 1 or 2). When the hair is longer you cant see it at all, it looks totally normal.
Even looking back in photos of me from like 2 years ago I've got the same weird thin spot.
The weird thing is there is kind of a lump there, in the exact place where it looks thin, so is it possible that it just looks weird because it's sort of raised or something? Anyone had anything like this before?

It was alright. Before the procedure, you have to do a blood test. Just to see how fast your blood clots and sugar level and such.
During the procedure, the only painful part is the first injection to numb your head. After that your head feels nothing. They extract your hair one by one and when they are inserting it they individually do it when placing as well.
For me, it took them 8 hours. I slept through it mostly. First they extracted my hairs for 4 hours. After they extract your hair, you take a break. You can move around and eat, take a bathroom break and such. Once they continue again, it'll be another 4 hours for them to implant those hairs graphs.
They tell you to rest your head for a few 3 days and you get medication painkillers and other anti-biotics for 5 days.
You can't wear a hat or wash your head directly in the shower for at least two weeks due to the heavy pressure from the shower heads directed towards your head. So you have to use a spray or a small bucket or jug or something.
You have to not go to the gym or any intense activity for 20 days for the proper head wash. During those 15 days, you'll first notice growth of your hair around the areas needed but after the 15th day, you'll notice your transplanted hair falling. After the 20th day for the proper wash, all your transplanted hair will disappear. This is normal.
I recommend it earlier than later because they need a lot of hair to exact from a place and insert it on another. I got 3000 graphs on my head, because they had a lot to work with. But if you're doing it when you have less hair, it'll take your more procedures since they only have little to work with.

FUE is different than FUT. They extract the hair individually, leaving little to no scar. The scars will be so small, they wont be noticeable. Specially since the donor area is where the hair is going to last.
The transplanted hairs will not fall out. The type of baldness pattern I have is called the donut shaped. Baldness in the top and hair around the back and sides.The transplanted hair are as preeminent as the back of the head hair.
The way to increase the thickness and reduce my non-transplanted hair loss, they told me to get hair growth tablets and use it for 3-6 months.
They are also giving me a free prp session to thicken my hairs as well.
As you can see, even at end of 2 months beginning of 3, I've started getting growth but it'll take more time for it to get better.
So, overall I am actually pretty satisfied with it.

The method you mentioned called FUT where they cut off a large chunk of the area and it left a huge scar. Now they use a FUE method, little more expensive and takes more time during the surgery but leaves little to no scars because they are extracting the hair individually.
