Anybody here really like running? I'm getting in shape. 5k this summer, 10k in the fall, and hopefully a 20k by next summer.

Jump rope to failure and then breath in and out to get cardiovascular endurance raised for a week. Do squats and short runs for about 20-40 yds for form and power.
Then go run. You will be faster than ever before within a week and you won't get tired.

Thanks for the tips. I'm doing couch to 5k right now, but once I hit 5k I'll give it a shot to see if I can increase my speed.
When you have the money, invest in a 100-oz Camelbak and some minimalist shoes. You'll be glad you did. In the mean time, be sure not to land on your heel, and stay hydrated.
