If you're ever biking on the road stay in the right lane for the love of god. Also, just because you're cycling you have to follow road rules as well.

You /n/?
>>
I have almost the same exact bike and its the fucking worst, should have spent more money and bought a proper road bike

If you really want those juicy legs you need to make it a true fixie and remove all breaks. That way you always are exercising, even when you are trying to stop. Also hit that gear ratio up, should be close to 3:1.

Your phone knows it.

Go up a hill with a single then with gears and you'll see why. If you are new you are gunna hate any kind of incline because u literally are handicapping yourself
>>
>>36523829
so minimalistic and effay, don't forget your drapey sweater, glasses, and suspenders with your shitty undercut

fag

Should have gotten a proper road bike.

why do people buy single gear bikes? I just don't get it. do you live in a city that is completely flat? I mean when you're cycling up a mountain, or just offroading a bit where the terrain is rugged you'll want to set the gears low (or high? I don't know bike terms in english that well). I don't know how to explain it in english, but when I'm going up a hill I'll set the pedal gears to 2 and the wheel gear to 4 or even 3 if the hill is tough. so what's the point of having a single gear bike? what do you do when you encounter a really big hill? alright so maybe it's set low, but what if you're going DOWN a hill or if you just want to go fast with your bike? will you just spin your legs like sonic because the gear is set so low and you can't change it? I just don't understand. what do you get from having just one gear? what's the point?

His legs will adjust quickly. It takes more thought when attacking an incline. But a good cyclist always attacks in the ascent.

The most important thing to learn riding fixed gear is stopping and proper cadence. Focus on those and you should be golden.

Lifestyle. It's that simple.

buy new gears. Get a larger front gear and swap it out, a bit go a pain but you can learn to do it fairly easily on you tube and whatnot.

Your gear ratio if you just bought the bike would be close to 2.25:1, which is fairly comfy. 3:1 is allot of fun when you have the strength to go up hills, 4:1 if your insane or going for track racing.

If your somewhat serious about cycling, Fixies forces you to learn allot of good habits. Obviously the biggest habit being to continually pedal, no matter what. to keep pedalling when hitting bumps, when flying flat out down a hill or going around corners. This teaches you to keep on the power at all times. It also helps with your standing still acceleration as you have one gear so you learn to put the power down when you start.

tl;dr if your serious, you will probs have a fixie as a side bike to get better

Terrible bicyle. It's trendy and dum and safe and basic and cheap and poorly made. Furthermore it has shit tier components, the build is too matchy matchy and is assembeled poorly as well. The bottom of the drops should be level with the top tube, the saddle should be black and the rims should be silver. The pedals are also garbage and so are the crankset but for 100 brit dollars you're unlikely to get more.

I've seen more instances of people hating it before their legs adjust than the opposite. For a beginner learning on a single is like a beginner guitarist trying to learn on a multiple bridged guitar, always better to learn in ez mode imo
>>
>>36524349
But why buy a fixie if you can just take a normal bike and leave it in one gear for the entire duration of your ride?
>>
>>36524052

dunno about OP but there are no hills where i live
>>
>>36523829
wtf. do people really buy a torn shirt for 2.6k? wtf
>>
I recently bought a Trek commuter bike.

I use it for when I go grocery shopping and commuting to the gym to save gas?
