I highly recommend Plato works, especialy Symposium, Apology Of Socrates and The Republic, but it's best to read all dialogues.

Really quick read, would recommend.

Just finished The Rum Diaries by Hunter S. Good book but not really as good as his other stuff, more coherent definitely, its clear that he found his style later.

Reading Stoner by John Williams after this.

Yes QM is quantum mech. I'm a PhD student in condensed matter theory so the peers that I know of all came from physics backgrounds (and I from a math background), even some of the more numerically inclined people.
If you're a CSfag looking to get into QM then I'd suggest quantum computing or quantum information, but you're gonna have to do a bit more math.
