Is he wrong?

I read over some of the studies he keeps quoting and they seem legit. Will meats actually increase my chances of getting heart disease and cancer or are the studies just bullshit?

When compared to a diet free of meat yes. But who fucking cares, it's not significant and you'd be giving up meat for something that you may never have to worry about. Just live like a normal fucking person. You'll be at risk for that shit anyhow.
>>
You're increasing your overall chance of getting colon cancer by 2%, which is pretty insignificant

He could be a genius, speaking the truth, and have discovered the secret to immortality, but that still doesn't make him any more worthwhile.
Stop wasting your time listening to this moron's youtube channel.
Either be vegan or don't, it's your choice.
If you need a vegan rolemodel in order to force yourself into a certain lifestyle, I'm sure you can find much better ones than this cunt or those aussie pricks.
>>
>>36504062
Basically this. Yes, meat and animal products too seem to promote cancer risks more so than being a vegan. This is due to a bajillion factors, and only a few of them are related to there being nasty shit in meat like vg says, mostly to do with meat promoting weight gain, weight gain = obesity, obesity = heart attack. Even if it increases chances of nasty shit by like 15%, which some studies show, I'd still say it's worth eating meat than a lifetime of tasteless food you need to buy from specialty stores and never being able to get anything good from restaurants. Also, your risk is dependant on how much you eat, it's not like 1 steak at a fancy restaurant once is going to make you suddenly drop dead of cancer.

Also by not eating meat, unless you're very careful, you'll be displacing a lot of key nutrients as well that just don't exist/aren't as abundant in plant based foods. A lot of people get sick from B12 deficiencies when they give up meat, which can have health consequences equal or worse to metabolic syndrome. Most dieticians still eat and recommend some meat because it is a good source of many nutrients you need. You can get everything you need as a vegan, but it can be difficult and burdensome.

Basically, yeah he's right but it's a big hassle and meat is fine in small amounts. Just don't eat it every day.
>>
everything gives you cancer but sentient beings offer the greatest gains my friend.
>>
>>36504040
Don't know who that is, but I've seen him a few times on /fit/ and he just looks sick. I can't take advices from someone who looks like he has terminal cancer and is about to die. He's yellow ffs.

Also no, meat don't increase your chances of heart disease. It's the opposite.

what are those nutrients you're talking about. Stop saying stuff just to say stuff. And animals get injected with b12 that's why there is b12 in meat.

>>
>>36504040

Here's the thing though... Is he someone who recites studies and puts it into a youtube video or does he critically analyse them and then give an actual opinion?

Can anyone here actually analyse a study in nutrition? Probably not. I doubt some guy in canada can do that without a formal education in nutrition.
>>
>>36504062
Yeah, it's the equivalent of saying "If you don't go out in the sun and instead get your vitamin D from fish, you reduce your chances of skin cancer." Or "If you stop using mobile phones and stay away from anybody with a mobile phone you reduce your chances of a brain tumor."

You can always do something to reduce your risk of hurting yourself but you have to stop and think, is it worth it? Is giving up meat just to make a rare form of cancer even more rare worth a life of shitty tasting food? I don't think it is.

I love it how you dont answer my question

To answer you question neither. I mean both are clearly mentally retarded. I am not sure who is more retarded but they are pretty close

Maybe pick a meat eater who is not actually retarded and ask again.

Pick two.

Seriously how the fuck do you expect me to do that?

All these vegan shills who say you can get jacked and shredded as meat eaters are fucking morons. Maybe find me a vegan who says that you cannot get jacked and shredded as meat meaters but vegan is healthier in the very very long run and maybe then I will agree with you.

No they don't you fucking moron. Animals eat foods containing bacteria that produce vitamin b12. This vitamin then circulates around the body and is stored in organs, tissue, blood etc
>>
He is right because the amount of obese meat eaters is much higher than the amount of obese vegans

>>
>>36504353
that was my point
its a correlation but there are other factors that play a bigger role in the cause of it

its like saying if you don't work out you are more likely not to look like the chocolate golem
you could also just not inject tons of HGH
you get the same effect
>>
Whon he fuck thinks that 10% fat is good? Fucks up your hormones, which isbprpven by science. And 10% protein is laughable given studies showing optimal protein synthesis rates for strength athletes at like 1.8 g of protein per kg. Why listen to this madman?

I think it works for him since he already eats a lot of calories. Like 5000 calories. Which would give him 55g of fat.
>>
>>36504040

Yes.

Seriously, even meat eaters know that meat isnt healthy.

My friends all eat meat, but they also all agree that its mostly unhealthy for you.

Its one thing to disregard veganism, but its another thing to eat meat and think its totally healthy for you.

Guys please

Vegan crap isn't sold at my local supermarket. I spent a long time the other day just trying to find tofu because the system said they had some but none of the staff could find it (there was one variety, in tiny packaging, near the cheeses) Also, if vegan, you should be probably buying b12, iron, etc supplements fairly regularly which can be a pain to find in a cramped vitamin section, especially vegan b12. Plus, unless you actually know what you're doing, I'd be consulting a doctor/dietician every few months to make sure you're not deficient in anything. A vegan diet is perfectly doable and sustainable, I just think it's a lot of work for little reward. Unless you care a lot about the cruelty thing but unless you're picky about your ingredients, a lot of those come from basically slave labour in third world countries too right?

Veggies can taste pretty good depending on cooking, seasoning etc. Meat tastes good by default.
>>
>>36504324
I'm not vegan but I don't see why they couldn't get as jacked as non-vegans. At least in my country, studies show they actually consume *more* protein on average than normal people. Arguments about protein quality and rate-limiting amino acids shouldn't be ignored, but you can get all the aminos you need as long as you vary your food sources quite a bit.

It is definitely more difficult to gain muscle as a vegan though, and it must be really hard to eat 5000kcals with only veggies when you bulk with all that fibre you're eating and with how boring the food tastes.
>>
Drinking increases cancer and CVD risk significantly.
Smoking increases cancer and CVD risk significantly.
Being obese increases cancer and CVD risk significantly.
Being depressed increases cancer and CVD risk significantly.
Plenty of shit increases risk disease risk, but I know more than a couple of fat, depressed, vegans who smoke and drink. I don't think you should go vegan for the health benefits unless you fix all the other, easier to manage risk factors first. Even then, is it really worth it for a 10% risk of getting cancer instead of 12%?
>>
>>36504471
Iron is present leafy greens. Also no, meat isn't good by default. I've had a lot of dry ass roasts, chickens, pork cuts, etc.. I think it's easier to fuck up meat than vegetables. Veggies you can just roast til they look crispy and they will taste incredible.

>>36504530

>>
>>36504514
Yeah but it's a lot easier to remember, and to follow, to consume a small cut of red meat every few days than to eat a large quantity of bok choy every day, ya know? Plus, most grils are iron deficient and vegans are usually grils. Unless they're eating a shitload of spinach every day, they should probably be supplementing.

I love food man, meat and veggies. I do think though that if you boil a chicken or boil some carrots, the chicken will taste better. You fry until crispy some chicken, you fry until crispy some cabbage, the chicken will taste better. Even badly cooked meat tastes better than averagely cooked veggies most of the time imo
>>
>>36504040
>I read over some of the studies he keeps quoting and they seem legit

yeah to people who dont know how to read studies
>>
>>36504493
This is the issue. Eat any meat and hey you have tonnes of bioavailable amino acids with almost zero fat and carbs.

:Pretty much every vegan source of protein has shit tonnes of carbs (not great for staying lean if you are having to eat them at every meal) plus they have shit bioavailability and you would have to supplement the fuck out of lucine to stimulate MPS
>>
>>36504543
Yeah I have to disagree. I'll take average veg over badly cooked meat any day of the week. Just the awful texture of that dry crap makes it a chore to eat. To each their own though.

most of these studies compare veganism to the standard american diet. that being said if you compare ANYTHING to the standard american diet you have lower cancer rates.

i am recently watching his videos just for pure entertainment

and by all means, he is good at it
i dont give a fuck about his preach veganism

it is like every vegan on earth doesn't just need to be vegan, but needs to convince everyone else of doing the same

pure cult behaviour and attitude, such as applefags who need to justify their higher price purchase...

tldr: same shit, different route.
keto fags will get their liver kill, vegans will get their pancreas kill

keto fags can recover by doing healthy carbs

vegan fags can slow pancreas damage doing HIIT, or 4+ hours of cardio (ie: durianrider)

by the way, pancreas does not have a recovery system, hence the diabetes treatments

Studies have shown that processed meat and red meat are carcinogenic , there's plenty of other meat out there. And vegans are only shown to be "healthier " than meat eaters when they're basically comparing a group of people who watch their diet compared to a group that's doesn't. A healthy balanced diet with meat is healthiest. You seem pretty naive or uneducated to believe this idiot twat so easily.
