>>36493960
Disagree. The size of the SBDs doesnt make much of a difference in assitance in the squat. I find the only way SBDs help is they ball up behind your knees and give you more spring that way and this doesnt really change too much between sizes. People get tiny sizes because it feels more secure.

find your class on the raw charts in that topic. class 3 or under and you go on the beginner programs, above class 1 go on the advanced programs.

just start with a medium load if you've never done sheiko before
>>
>>36494461
deadlift/squat/bench I guess?
I would do the intermediate small load program then wait until you hit 104% for a single in week 5 and then every week after that if you feel the weights are too easy up your maxes a little bit

Lads, do you actively bend the bar in the bench press?

I recently saw a video where one guy demonstrated it - he basically does it at the top is the movement, it makes his elbows roatate a little bit and then he benches that way.

I always in some what engaged my Lat in the bench but I never did this elbow thing - I just tested it with the bar and I can definitely reproduce the movement.

Not sure if that helps me though.

Oh, ok. That makes a lot more sense.
>>
>>36495655
Have you ever considered that you and the other two trips above just have shit deadlift form and cannot handle high volume because of it?

Straight back pullers and sumo pullers can handle high volume because their lifts don't destroy their body.

Almost done running Sheiko cycle. I'll have 9 weeks before a comp. What should I do to get my deadlift up the most, before the comp?

Is there a difference between 1x3 (setsxreps) and 3rm? Using a calculator for TM and it programmed differently. I just add 5 lbs regardless, but I have been wondering why the person who programmed the calculator did this and used different equations.

Do one of the tough programs like #30 or #40 and then do a peaking block, that comes out to 8 weeks.

So maybe add another week to the volume block.

>>36495795
You can do 1x3 at different percentages than a max (e.g. 1x3@80%), while a 3RM is the highest percentage at which you can do three reps.
I think 3RM is normally in the low 90% range for the average person.

its not the other two. its those two, me, like 3 or 4 people in the tree house, and people on the sheiko forums all hint at it as well.

as for the explanation, I would agree, especially about the sumo thing, I think sumo pullers can usually** bash volume a little more effectively (there are exceptions). one other thing to consider is my deadlift is exceptional compared to my squat as well, so running volume at same%'s will trash me a little harder than others

No, I definitely was.

But my deadlift tanked and fell apart well before i over trained. I made a small PR on squat and matched my BP without a lift off on bench, but my deadlift was down almost 30 lbs at that point.

>>36495889
no, but effectively it did.

form break down was HUGE, even after I cleared the fatigue there was lingering issues with technique. Cause me alot of heart ache, and I was only able to pull 300 kg (barely) in comp compared to pulling 317.5 before.

10 drops .5M of strong base + 10 drops 1M strong acid, were these mixed into a solution of water? what were the pH changes etc etc

just giving it all away for free to try and get people interested in geared lifting

like wtf. I was so fucking mad when i realized it was all for twinks ( ._.)

I really want to do a strongman competition with a squat lift or deadlift in it that allows equipment

Just mixed together in a test tube with a drop of phenolphthalein as an indicator and roughly neutralized. An eleventh drop of NaOH ended up in there and shifted it to a pH of ~10

Actually I just tested it and I noticed that I feel my triceps a lot more.

I even remember the guy in the video saying that he does it for triceps involvement, otherwise it's only chest.

I usually never feel triceps after benching - this set felt kind of weak.
I am not sure if I went more triceps in my bench?

yes, if it is easy up your max if it is hard lower it, let it be challenging but not enough to cause form breakdown

Don't think in those terms. Benching should use 'everything' even though a raw bench should probably be chest dominant. If you're tucking your elbows hard, that's a mistake, you don't need to actively do that to get your back tight or fire your lats.

Now that you mention it, I think that's part of why I dropped 'bend the bar' as a cue. Good for getting your back tight, and I kind of do it during set-up, but it can cause you to tuck excessively.

Labels are dumb. Powerlifting, bodybuilding, whatever. I just don't see the point in wasting time lifting weights when you can't run over a mile.

Lifting for numbers is the stupidest thing I've ever heard, and that's what powerlifting is. It's not for function, stability, etc, or even anything practical. It's just to make yourself feel good that you can lift x number of pounds.

That's why I don't powerlift exclusively.
