Anyone ever get one of these? I'll be heading to the doctors in a week or so because of a persisting ache I get in my lower right abdomen, right next to the obliques. I hope I don't have one, and its just a strain or something, cuz i see no bulge. I'm gonna keep lifting until I get a surgery if it is one.
yep, 2 yrs ago had a bilateral inguinal hernia repair. it was done laparoscopically w mesh.
if u have to get a hernia repaired i would HIGHLY advise u do as much research as u can regarding the mesh. if i had to do it over again i wouldn't get the mesh. my left side has hurt since the day of the procedure. have seen a pain management specialists, had a nerve block, fucker still hurts. something the surgeon conveniently won't tell u is that it's fairly easy to put in, as a lot of surgeons can do it, but it's extremely difficult to take out it there's complications. regarding complications, they'll tell u it's less than 5% or so but in reality it's prolly closer to 30% or higher. in terms of getting it out there's only a handful of surgeons around the country that will even talk to u about it (they all know each other), i met w 3 of them, and everything regarding the removal is out of pocket. again, before u do this make sure u thoroughly research what it's all about. here's some good fb groups (especially the first one):

Just recently got tested an doc said I have a loose inguinal opening which might or might not turns into actual hernia. He told me to continue to live my life as it was and just go easy on the weightlifting. He also told me to not go under any surgical operation. I'm not so sure about the last one - I can't do pullups, squats, deads, rows...Pretty much the base of my workouts. I know I can start lifting heavy again if this shit get fixed...

That's like the opposite of a tooth implant where they tell you failure rate is like 3-5% but it's really like not even 1%
It depends on the research p much

Man, that's fucked up. Is that mostly genetics or can you get it with bad form?

Hernias are nearly always genetics.

i also had hernia surgery 4 moths ago. Recovering is going to take something between 4-10 weeks considering how big your operation is. I had to recovery something like 6-7 weeks. First 3 days are going to be really painful but after that just start to walk a lot. First try to improve the length of your walks and after that the speed.
