I live in the suburbs and every weekend I travel into the CBD via train to have a bit of fun. The trip is usually a quiet hour long cruise where I can just relax and listen to music. I was with this fobby qt Chinese girl who I only communicated with in broken English (sorta like George Leeman and Little).
Anyway this time as I took a seat on the train I noticed people looking down the carriage and it wasn't until I took out an earphone that I noticed some bogans were going at it. It was a group teenagers probably 17-18 threatening an older man probably in his 40s saying stuff like "I'll bash ya head in" who reciprocated calling them "fucking cunts", "wombats", etc. 3 of the teenagers were ratty looking dyels and 1 fat fuck (120+ kg, 170cm) vs a balding old man with typical Dad bod.
I could tell none of them wanted to fight but it was just another case of mob mentality, trying to save face in front of what is now an audience of bystanders. They started getting louder and moving closer to each other and the girl I was with told me she was getting scared. Normally I wouldn't do anything but I wanted to look tough in front of the girl so I got up and started walking towards them. They all noticed me immediately, I walked past the teenagers and went straight to the older man, shook his hand and just told him "drop it, they're not worth it", he complied and moved into the next carriage without a fuss. I think he wanted to back off plenty of times but didn't have the opportunity without looking weak. I turned to the teenagers, introduced myself and told them "sit down, it's over". I gave the fat one a titty twister and a pat on the back (I have a fat friend and it's just something I've done out of habit). At first I thought I fucked up but the dyels started laughing and taking the piss out of the fat fuck which de-escalated the situation. I went back to my seat with my heart pounding the entire trip into the city.
