How do I lose fat without wanting to kill myself?

Yes i've read the sticky, yes I know its just cals in/cals out.

But generally, I'm just asking. How do you permanently get over shitty habits you've had your whole life?

I can stay strong for 5 days max eating meat/veges/ and a few measured complex carbs while working out. But then I always go back to fatland.
>>
eat lots of protein because its satiating
dont buy junk
>>
>>36417583
I stay strong all day, but if I work late then Ill be starving after and eat some shitty gas station food on the way home. that fucks me up. I guess i need to make meals and carry them with me. Nighttime is the worst time.
>>
Reward yourself for good choices if you have the means. Hit one week on a diet, get yourself something (not food) that's you've wanted, such as a new wallet or a really good water bottle. Hit two weeks, up it a bit, and maybe get a new shirt or new shoes. Hit a month, get a new blender. As a species, we like rewards and while diet is more of a long-term thing, these little rewards in between could keep you going.

yep, prep/plan meals in advance

>>36417609
I've also started doing this, works well instead of drinking.
>>

Small steps towards a greater goal.

Don't do anything radical, that is an invitation to failure. Focus on replacement of one bad habit at a time with a good habit.
>>
As other anon's have said. Planning/prep. Plan to have proper balanced healthy meals and limit snacks to healthier options like a piece of fruit, raw veg, nuts. For your junk fix allow yourself a single piece/pack (talking the smallest pack size not those fake small sizes. Like 30-40g pack of chips or a single 10-15g funsize candy bar, a 1-2 biscuits for examples) of something you fancy but only after you've eaten your proper meal.

If you lack enough self control to limit your junk intake to a single SMALL serve of diabetuz force yourself to drink a heap of water (500ml+) before you even think about eating your allocated portion of junk.

Idealy you'd eventually cut back on your post meal junk treats to 1-2 a day. Baby steps though.

*I lost weight by doing this, only 4-5kg's as I wasn't that big to start with. Not sure how much of a change it would make to someone significantly bigger than my 56kg skinnyfat frame.
>>
>>36417576

you either want it or you don't. if you want it, you will do what you need to do. if not, you will continue making excuses. start doing what needs to be done, or go be fat somewhere else. the only thing anyone here has done that you have not done is want it bad enough to make it happen.
>>
You change just one bad habit at a time. If you change everything at once, you're guaranteed to fail. Unless you have an extremely strong will. But if you had that, you wouldn't be fat in the first place.
Start off simple. Replace soda with water. After you get used to it and it's not difficult anymore, replace burgers or pizza with chicken breast. After you're used to that, change another bad habit. If you do it step by step, it's super easy.
>>
If you're simply worried about losing fat, then just keep eating what you like - just eat much smaller portions of it and count your damn calories. You'll be skinny fat, but you can always fix that later.
>>
>>36417576
Start using myfitnesspal, and just make sure to accurately record what you eat. Use the standard 1kg/week weightloss setup it offers you.

It doesn't matter (at first) if you don't stick to it - the important thing is to become aware of what you're eating and how bad it is, which should be enough of a wakeup call to inspire you to actually lose the weight.

It's gonna be hard as hell, but you WILL make it if you learn discipline.

This worked for me, hopefully it helps you.

No fap. Not even kidding
After fapping you'll loose any motivation in the following 2 days
No fap+expose yourself in the public is enough to make you keep eating clean
I know you'll be horny as shit and search loli porn. But keep your damn hand tight

Become a foodie, try different recipes, find new things you like, enjoy the odd treat in moderation.

If you're really struggling try improving your diet gradually, each week cut something out.

When I started I cut out takeaways and fizzy drinks for my first week, then junk food, and so on, after 4 weeks I started calorie counting.

Binge on fruits, mix them. Snack on asparagus and carrots.

Instead of protein for dinner, eat it for breakfast or lunch. Protein keeps you full longer, why waste that on sleeping hours?

I generally eat a 750 calorie protein based meal for lunchish, then spend the rest of the day eating fruits and veg. If I want a desert snack type thing I mix the fruit. The mixture of fruit flavors tricks ur brain into thinking u had dessert. After awhile u begin to crave mixed fruit instead of "treats".

Fruit and veg is great cuz you can eat a fuckton and still stay in budget calorie restrictions. Never have to feel hungry

>How do I lose fat without wanting to kill myself?

I think the bigger question is, how could you NOT lose fat without wanting to kill yourself?

Don't think of it as "going on a diet", think of it as learning how to eat the way people who aren't fat eat normally.
>>
>>36421975
This anon is correct.

PO, learn to eat the way normal people eat. That's what you have to do. End of story.

When you get cravings for junk food just remind yourself that it's only due to hunger and you'll be just as satisfied with a healthy meal.

Ultimately we can't help you do anything; the motivation has to come within. Always ask yourself: what do I really want? This junk food or to reach my goal?
>>
>>36417576
Eat high volume of low calorie foods

Eat low volume of high calorie foods

Portion control. Eating pizza? Don't have more than 2 slices.

Skip eating sweets/candy/potato chips entirely unless it is a social obligation, like having a slice of cake at somebodys celebration/party. Even then try to keep the slice small.

Remember that there is no such thing as unhealthy food, just unhealthy diets. What you eat over the course of a month matters more than what you eat in a single day
>>
Former fatty here, still stuck with the food addiction. I know the toll it takes man, it's fucking hard to break that habit. Hell, I still have it, even though I've managed around it. Here are two options to think of:

1) Try fasting all day and eating at night if its a night problem

2) Go to bed right when you get home and wake up early to workout

I did #1 for a long time and it worked very well, because I could still splurge on food as my mind wanted to. I'm currently doing #2, because working out in the morning is amazing, and my hunger cravings only come at night so I'm asleep during them.
>>
>>36417576

Just like any addiction, a great way to combat this is simply to change your daily routine.

So let's say, you wake up every day, eat your breakfast and then shower? Try to shower first then. Sounds too simple? Because it should be. We usually associate our addictions with shit we do every day, like the cigarrete after lunch and so on. That way your addiction becomes part of your routine too.

Just by changing your routine you can break a lot of those associations.
>>
>>36417576

It's extremely difficult.

The best thing you can possibly do is to build positive associations from your good habits- like how it FEELS to lift, eat well, sleep well, stretch, go for stress-reducing walks, go for jogs, eat broccoli etc.

That way, when you go back off the deep end and get flooded with estrogen from eating donuts and stewing in your own filth, your better self will tap you on the shoulder and remind you how good you once felt.

And it's simply the more time you spend in the state of getting healthy that adjusts you to it. That's why you want to do a real mild cut instead of crash dieting.

Food tastes great when you're cutting, that's another thing.
>>
>>36417576
Start doing it and you'll understand
>>
>>36417576
OP here, Keto aside, you guys are giving great advice with is weird for /fit/

I love how I feel when I work out and eat well, and I'm trying to have that feeling in mind before I eat or exercise. Everyone feels like shit after a candy bar or a cigarette so it's good to be mindful of that
