Hey /fit/,

i started working out in oct. 2015 with freeletics (bw training), i was pretty slacky, no fitness / strength at all and could barely bench press 20lbs in summit...

i archived a pretty good fitness level (imho) and still working to improve, started lifting on top of my bw training in january..


well my question...
i am pretty thin, does it make sense to start dieting myself down already?

I am sorry but 180 dyel skinnyfat is not a pretty good fitness level

Get on a structured program, lift 3-5 times a week and eat in a surplus for two years. When you've done that, cut down to single digit BF% and there you have a good fitness level.

i have a very hard time making progress in bench press and the likes... not sure what the reason is.
advice for that?

Bench more and start overheadpressing.

Have two days a week where you bench, and one day overhead pressing. Increase the weight on OHP and you will increase your bench.

Also focus on building your triceps after each upperbody workout, as they help your benchpress alot.

No, no, no. I was in the same boat as you, my arms grew from 12 -> 17" in two years once i actually managed to train them.

You need to do multiple sets of curls, pushdowns etc, many times a week, if your arms is your weakpoint.

I train arms three times a week, always a rest day in between. I always do 2 exercises for bi's and 2 for tri's, 3 sets of 8-15 reps.

i'm making a split atm.

2days chest/abs/biceps
1day core/legs/back

focus is
benchpress, sidebench press, butterfly, pushups, biceps curl

deadlift, squats, dips, pullups (tho reps here are rather small amounts)

doing pretty good progress with the deadlifts and squats....

(sorry, too retarded to explain my workout in more detail)
