Because I was doing karate since 2005, and under the impression that I was learning to fight. Fuck, I still enjoy it, but I'm pissed that they practically lied to me. I guess it still counts as a combat sport though.
At uni now, so I'm thinking of doing either Kung Fu or Muay Thai. But Kung fu would be a similar deal, and the Muay Thai club just...vanished.
The other clubs are Tang Soo Do and Taekwondo, but those are so sporty they have no combat application whatsoever.

Did a course of BJJ some years ago, was pretty obsessed for a while but changed to a shift job so I couldn't get to practise regularly. Recently started an MMA course, early taste is it feels like halfassing both no-gi grappling and kickboxing, wouldn't recommend. Maybe it gets better after the beginning

Because I live in a small ass city (30k~ population) and the only combat sports clubs here are Karate and Judo.
I'd like to try something that's a bit more focused on striking but the only boxing club closed 2 years ago.
