Started my first lift on monday
Did workout B today (Ice cream fitness 5x5)

You guys have some good overall tips?
Things you maybe wish you'd knew when you first started?
Tips on not getting injured? Things you'd like to tell others?
>>
Bumping for interest.

Training once a weak each muscle group is not ideal/enough.

Training squats 3 times a week is a meme unless you're a powerlifter.
>>
>>36327647
Is 2x a week better?
>>
make sure you do pullups and dips at the very least. bodyweight training isnt a meme you wanna be a well rounded fit person
if you really want something that burns lots of calories then start running, but only 3 times a week max at first so you dont fuck your shins up
learn a martial art if possible/can afford it
rings training is really fun
get a gymbro. its really cool working out with someone who wants to work out as much as you
dont hit on girls at the gym its a very dumb thing to do unless they approach you/make it extremely obvious

train heavy low reps on all 4 major compounds
high reps to failure on isolation work
start taking squat seriously sooner
dont roid until you're deadlifting atleast 405 natty
>>
Build your base. Focus on building strength and putting up decent weight on the big 3. Squats, Bench, Dead lifts. If you stall lower the weight to one challenging but still comfortable enough to do high reps and stay there until the weight feels "light" while focusing on that high rep range. Then try for the heavier weight. This has helped me many times when lifts plateau

Lucky for me my friend roped me into lifting 2 weeks ago, leg, chest, abs mwf arms, back, shoulders, abs tth, goin hard on strength
>>

I can't suggest Dips enough for beginners.
That shit makes your pecs look really good. It slows down very hard after a few weeks but the results show up again after a couple months. After your pecs are looking really nice you can do whatever. They will stay flat and retangular instead of going round

how the fuck did he manage to do this in four months?

I'm just getting into this whole thing and I don't know shit, I spent the last two days upping my caloric intake, got 2800cals and 150g protein today.

I don't know what work outs I should do without a gym, and how frequently I should do them. Anyone have any recommendations?

Person A wants to become "aesthetic" by building muscle mass. The fastest way to do that is by building strength, then mass.

>>36327506

Don't follow memes.

Don't take health advice from a chilean comic-porn fetish image board.

Make long term goals and stick to them. Dedication and routine stop being a burden at a certain point. Stick with it, you'll make it mang

Are you OP?

You made this exact thread your first workout. Seriously, read the sticky again (it's useful). Anything your fuzzy on: Google. Find multiple resources, synthesize the info, and use your best judgement. Your body is an interesting organism, you won't figure it out in 4 months but it talks to you. It get's easier and you start to actually enjoy it. The gym should be chill/therapeutic/an exercise in meditation.

Enjoy the ride, anon.

I miss crippling DOMS desu. It'll be gone before the week is up, keep moving and use a rolling pin on your quads if you can't do a little foam rolling

>Tips on not getting injured?
If you have sedentary lifestyle don't do all this old 5x5 shit, "great 3 lifts", Starting Fat and etc. You should do LOTS OF stretch and mobility work and begin from unilateral squat movements (like split squats), partial deadlifts (not from floor, like rack pulls), push ups, pull ups, dips, dumbbell presses and LOTS OF glute and hamstring activation work, like hip thrusts, hamstring curls, body extensions etc.
