'Don't turn around' edition. My gym has no barbells. Only dumbbells and machines. I want to use machines for my main lifts: bench press, squat, the deadlift equivalent muscle groups etc since I can go to a heavier weight compared to DBs. I'll be doing pull ups in my routine and swimming. Question: would I still get the same results with machines as I would using barbells? Results meaning strictly aesthetics wise

Alright guys, I'm in kind of a dilemma. I recently started lifting again after about a 5 month break, and during that time I've gained about 6-7kg of fat as a result of not having time to train due to studis + work. I'm not at 95kg ish at 183cm tall, and 18%~ bf

I've got the option to either say fuck it and bulk so I dont stay dyel as fuck, or do the boring cut down to like 88 so I dont get superfat in the process of gaining mussel.

Another thing is that I've got chronic knee pain that most likely is gonna dissappear if I build sufficient quad strengthm and a cut will further delay that from happening.

Wat do guise?

What progression of workout plans do you recommend for someone looking to go from overweight (25% BF) to an eventual 15% but stronger. Obviously diet will make a big part of getting to the sub 15% so I can do normal bulk/cut cycles.

SS (4-5 months) -> PPL (4-5 months) -> TM or 5/3/1. Or do you recommend starting with a PPL or upper/lower split and skipping the SS phase all together?

Stats:
Bench 60kg
Squat 92.5kg
OHP 45kg
Deadlift 102.5kg
Pendlay Row 52.5kg

Depends how many days you want to get to the gym. If you can do 6 days I would say go with a PPL. If you want 4-5 days something like PHUL/PHAT. Less then that just a 3 day split.

During that time and until about 2 weeks ago I ate anywhere from 2500 to 3000 calories and weighed about 130lbs. Since I quit I've slowly put on the weight and it all went to my belly and chin.
