>tfw you fell for the deadlift meme
>>
>>36233241

You mean when you dont properly drive your hips. If you cant handle fucking DL you might as well just stop now because youre not.gonna.make.it
>>
>>36233241
I've heard the "deadlift is a meme" meme a lot before but i wanted to chime in and say deadlifting built up some muscles and actually fixed some problems i had been having with a weak core. Along with the whole routine though
>>
>>36233241

>tfw back issues went away after deadlifting
>tfw posture also improved
>>
deadlifting is a good lift but it's also one of the most overrated. people act like if you're not deadlifting you might as well not be lifting at all

>inb4 if you're not deadlifting you might as well not be lifting at all
>>
>>36233241
>tfw you fell for the shit form meme
>>
>>36234215
same. Just don't fall into the 1/2/3/4 meme & try to do 4pl8 when you weigh 135lb lol
>>
>doing a slow, controlled eccentric on the deadlift

this is what will fuck you up hard.
>>
>>36234262
I was deadlifting 160kg while I was OHPing 50, benching 60 and squatting like 80.

Needless to say, I fucked my shit up and now can't deadlift or squat.
>>
>>36233241
Start low and slow. Your main muscles might be strong enoughj to do threeplate, but the stabilizing/erector muscles are too weak to handle it.
>>
>>36234283
If you can't do a slow controlled descent, you have too much weight. Assuming you're not an olympic lifter or a powerlifter, there's no need to make noise. If you're going for bodybuilding, its all about the slow movement. Dropping the weight is like being a fat fuck, they're both just excuses that suit your ego.
>>
>>36233241
You're not supposed to feel the deadlift in your back you fucking retard

>You're not supposed to feel the deadlift in your back you fucking retard

Hooooooo boy
>>
>>36234394
Have you ever googled "deadlift"? Apparently not.

>you fell for the deadlift hurts your back meme

That's what you get for improper form. I bet you did not use any leg drive.
>>
So on /fit/, today I just learned that the OHP is a meme, and now the deadlift is a meme.

This board is utter shit.

I had back pain after doing deadlifts.

I then did invisible deadlifts to show my friend if i'm doing it right. He said my back wasn't straight enough and that my upper back was tilted too much towards the ceiling.

Is he right? I need advice.
>>
>>36234207
What's your routine?
>>
>>36234412
people might take you more seriously if you didn't use a trip

If you're not deadlifting you might as well not be lifting at all.

It is the second best exercise for your body besides a proper squat and if you neglect them it's because you're injured, handicapped, or pathetic. You don't have to deadlift twice a week like powershitters but no deadlifting at all is actually really fucking retarded from a physiological standpoint given you're doing the other big two, you fucking unlifter
>>
>>36234513
Monday/Wednesday/Friday (same all days)

4x15 DL
2x3 Squat
6x1 bench
3xF chins
3xF curls
3x3 upright rows
3x20 calf raise
>>
>>36234560

The taxation from front squats and an arched bench press on your erectors and core merits the strength built for them via the deadlift, if you're trying to get a stronger and more structurally integral body and not deadlifting then you're a goddamn ding-a-ling.

You probably lie on the bench flat as a fish and don't front squat either, who am I kidding?

But is it worth the risk of fucking up the body if not done properly?

I feel like I can never do it properly because I start feeling the back pain. I've watched tons of videos and advice... it's easier said than done.
>>
>>36234489
every lift is a meme meme
>>
>>36234630
A lot of the time the reason people can't lift properly is because they overanalyze the form. Grip the bar, take a deep breath and push through your heels.

>Captain Poutine
You dumb cunt Cancuck just shut the fuck up, nobody takes you seriously with a shitty name like that. I bet you're from fucking Toronto.
>>
>>36234262
1/2/3/4 is the worst of memes.
>>
>>36234351
jesus christ shut the fuck up faggot.

i hate you fucks at the gym that bitch about fucking NOISE at a GYM.
>>
>>36234680

I did notice unprecedented gains.
My traps bulked up, my forearms thickened up, and I felt this rush of testosterone. It's like it forces the body to man the fuck up.
>>
>>36234630

What are you doing the 23 hours of the day you're not in the gym?

Foam rolling?

Stretching?

Watching videos and skimming the internet about how to fix your flexibility/mobility?

Ever take glucosamine for your joints?

Will doing some stretching throughout the day prevent the back aches? Or are the aches a result of body damage that could be permanent?
>>
>>36234599
this is shit
>>
>>36234730

There is literally no reason to drop 99% of deadlifts
>>
>>36234500
>invisible deadlifts
>>
>>36234913
no one said anything about dropping deadlifts you autist.

you're arguing that one needs to perform a slow, controlled eccentric on their deadlift or deload.

that's the most retarded shit i've ever heard. you're never going to make it.
>>
>>36235056

kek, you are literally advocating to not control the barbell
>>
>>36234630
Maybe your lifting too heavy.
