I've been lifting seriously for about 1 month now, but intermittently on/off for 2 years. Also been playing rugby for 8 years.

Yes. It will take a while for you to figure out how to actually squat. Deadlifting is pretty primitive though.

I wasn't lifting anything outrageous. I've done these exercises before so I don't know why it went crazy now. I'm not even in pain nor was I in pain.

So I'm guessing the general consensus is that I ripped a tendon. I'll get it checked out for sure.
