Can you tell me a good reason why I shouldn't replace my whey protein with soy protein?
I just ran out of whey and I'm seriously about to pull the trigger on a big bag of soy protein.

google "soy estrogen"
You'll get the usual "soy is bad for males" meme as a reply throughout the thread despite repeated debunking of that concept. But in reality, soy protein is a great source of protein regardless of gender.

protein is protein, retard
>>36187160
Isn't this just a meme?
Since I'm white and not lactose intolerant, I'm going with whey.

I'm thinking of trying Vega Sport Performance Protein... No I'm not vegan or vegetarian, I just wanna try something new.
So tell me how it goes.

The milk industry spread that rumor of soy causing beasts in the 90s to fight against the soy industry growing at the time.
>>36187160
google "soy isolate"

>soy isolate
is great
if youre a woman or a trap
Or maybe both of them?

Anything soy and my gyno flares up. It's not visible otherwise.
Soy sucks, eat meat.

gram for gram your body utilizes more whey protein than soy based on every major test used to measure bioavailability since the 60s. But in populations who consume large amoutns of soy protein there are noted decreases in cardiovascular problems.
>>36187591
Then it sounds like you have a sensitivity to soy. That isn't rare but isn't the norm either.
Have tried several soy only products and most of them are terrible.
It dilutes terribly. Even when mixing it up in the blender it doesn't diffuse well and always tastes "clotty". Went back to a soy/whey mix.
I am sure the two vegan fags who pester this board will make you believe otherwise. That soy is in some way the ultimate solution.
>>36187156
Whey is a cheap bi-product of cheese making.
Soy production destroys rainforest and soy protein tastes horrible.
All good goy drink their soy.

>It dilutes terribly. Even when mixing it up in the blender it doesn't diffuse well and always tastes "clotty".
This. Whey blends and tastes much better.

If vegetarians are so environmentally conscious why don't they condone eating meat? That'll curb the methane problem a little bit.

You are a joke.

Marginally lower quality protein, pseudo-estrogens, costs more.
I can't afford soy, I'm literally eating whey protein and oats from walmart, spicing it up with the occasional can of tuna or some carrots on the side. Sometimes I just eat oats with some hot sauce. Been so broke since I got a DWI but I'm really seeing changes to my body fat, eating mostly a lean protein diet.

What the fuck, soy isolate is twice as cheap as why. Reason I use it exclusively.

But by all means keep spouting this meme so I can enjoy my dirt cheap soy protein while clueless cucks buy overpriced shit from the supplement jew.

we are talking about man tits, not sperm count.
>>36188771
>Maybe increases estrogen slightly in women
That one study that proves nothing settles it.
>>36189056
Soy doesn't greatly affect real estrogen nor does it affect the sperm. It contains pseudo-estrogen compounds which can cause similar physiological effects in some tissue types, like the breasts
>>36187156
Because of leucine
so im going to get gyno from eating one 20g soy protein isolate clif bar a day?
probably not
>>36187156
Here, OP, this is a comparison of the amino acid content of protein from soy protein isolate versus whey protein isolate. You can see that the profile of each is different; notably soy, like all other plant-based protein, is deficient in l-lysine in comparison to whey. Make up your own mind rather than asking /fit/.
Personally I don't think soy is that good for human consumption; I know more than one person who has allergic reactions and other undesirable side effects to eating anything with soy in it.
