these are the actual sweet potatos. yams [orangey ones people make candied yams out of for holidays] are also called sweet potatos in alot of stores, and may be all they sell. so you might have to search a bit. at least here in the states

What makes the tomato thing especially stupid to confuse is that there's nothing about a tomato that could be mistaken for a vegetable and not a fruit, even in the kitchen. They're sweet, juicy, and colorful little thin-skinned balls that you can easily eat raw. They even look almost identical to persimmons. It's not like it's a fucking leaf or something.

I also wanna give a quick shout out to brussels sprouts. If you find them gross when steamed/boiled, try roasting/frying them (they caramelize nicely too)

and finally, a reminder that making smoothies is a great way to get in veggies/fruits that you wouldn't normally eat otherwise
