Eat lots of veggies, protein, and fibrous food to feel fuller. Dont think you have you give up good foods permanently, just learn moderation. I eat at fast food once or twice a week, still. that's literally all you need to do, but i'm generous today, so here are some:

> pay attention to your biorythm. a few days every couple-or-so weeks you will be motivated as fuck, every few days you'll feel like you'd rather die than do anything. Work around this

>eat plenty in the morning, and enough in the afternoon. In the evening only eat fruits if you can't hold yourself. Don't eat anything in the evening during high motivation days.

>stop jacking off.

>sugar = fatness. Even a little amount is indulging yourself. Be aware of that.

>read labels for anything you eat. You'll be surprised how much crap is disguised as good.

Hey, you're at my December weight! I'm at 250 now, and here's how:

-Read the sticky. Not saying it to be an ass, I'm saying it because it's good.

-Record every single thing you've eaten. Unless it's coffee or gum, it should be recorded. You'll have a couple of foods that will surprise you in how bad they are.

-Walk more. Park your car further from buildings, take the stairs, walk anywhere that's less than half a mile away with no excuses. It's free (very light) cardio.

-Eat more steamed vegetables. Four slices of pizza are easy for me to eat, but eating 150 grams of broccoli and 100 grams of chicken fucking stuffs me.

-Cooking is fucking awesome. But don't cook with oil or butter if you can help it, since those are also calories. Bake or use one of those no-calorie nonstick sprays for frying.

-Intermittent fasting seems good. I'm just starting it since I stalled out on weight loss this month, and it seems to be going well so far. No breakfast and bigger lunch/dinners.

-Cutting moderately. Don't go for 1000 kcal/day deficits, it'll drive you mad and you'll break and have an absurd cheat day. Go moderate with 500-700 deficit.

Calories in, calories out. It all comes down to this, and if you put in less than you spend out, you'll make it. Good luck fat-familia, one day soon we'll both be thin.

I decided to 'count' my calories.
I ended up buying a calculator and because my fingers were 'too fat' to press the buttons and I ended up typing in 1100 calories instead of 100 I tricked myself into thinking that I shouldn't use the calculator which lead me to lie to myself and pretend I can't do math, so I ended up eating double my wanted calories (4000 instead of 2000) under the pretense of 'not being good at math'

YES count calories. Do it for a week or so, counting absolutely EVERYTHING. Then, if you can do that, just "count" your calories with estimates. You'll stop eating things like candy bars when you think of them as 250 calories down the drain.

Works for me, IMO. I also tally up the calories of whatever I'm making (e.g. casserole, cookies, chili, etc), and make sure that I only have a reasonable fraction of the total calories. I'm on Keto right now, so I can't eat the stuff I mentioned, but the idea is the same.

I've been dieting for 5 years but could not reach my goal with my fucked hormonal profile.

Get your blood drawn now, test your thyroid levels immediately. Take the test late in the day to avoid a "borderline but normal" result. Get an ultrasound scan done also.

If you are hypo as I have been diagnosed now, not only will you eventually need to drop kcal to stupid levels like 1500 per day to continue losing weight (once you get to skinnyfat) but your testosterone production will be VERY poor and you will also be low T.

The low T will also ensure that you maintain fat around your lower abdomen and lower back (in particular) and will prevent you from building muscle. Actually the low T alone won't, but if you combine low thyroid (poor cell turnover rate) with the low T then you will make zero progress at all.

It's important that you test both thyroid and T levels IMO. Also take your body temp at home eveyr morning, if it's lower than norm (mine is around 35 celsius consistently) you are almost definitely suffering from hypo. I could have fixed my life 5 years ago if I just had got tested.

I used to think that too. Result: 1 year of agonising over every fucking tiny-ass meal I HAD to eat otherwise my metabolism would screech to a halt. Lost next to no fat.

Keep in mind that the food isn't going anywhere. You can look like you do now in a year or you can look better. So be patient, don't do something you can't keep up in a year and if you really feel for a burger and fries wait a few days before eating it. Eating that burger and those fries doesn't mean you should pig out the rest of the day. It's a meal you felt like eating and even after you lose weight you won't stop feeling like eating that so you might as well intergrade it into your new way of eating.
Make a habit of taking the stairs or something too. I doubt you are in a hurry, and the only thing you will get to fast by being too lazy for 5 minutes of stairs is fat. Small things like that add up in the long run.
And last of all keep in mind that having a companion for weight loss isn't so that two people can become shredded together, it's so that the other person have someone to fail with.

Gamification. From 270+ its likely that you've got quite a while to go. Set up intermediate "achievements" you can acquire throughout then process to keep your next goal always around the corner. I'll do something like a couple new pairs if jeans every 10 lbs, or a new phone when I'm done with this cut. After I run my first 5k this spring I'll be investing in some nice running shoes.

Just keep the rewards small enough and close enough that there is almost always one that is close to complete.

Fine, fine, I'll give you the elixir to weight loss:
1)Go vegan
2)Go low(er) carb: nuts, seeds, loads of vegetables, tofu(have fun playing around with veggies and spices), 2 pieces of fruit every day
3)Bodyweight exercise only(2 sets of 20) for pretty much everything then make exercise harder(eg from normal pushups to diamond pushups).
4)Do this one day followed by 20min-ish HIIT the next day and alternate.
5)Sleep at least 7 hours every day.
6)Go to bed no later than 11
7)Start doing yoga
8)Literally drink shitload of water(4,5,6L whatever it takes)
9)Intermittent fasting every day 16/8 or more if you can 18/6 and one 24 hour fast every week
10)Supplement vitamin D3, don't be a fag
11)Did I mention to go vegan? Dairy is the worst, high fat content and is linked to acne. Meat is associated with weight gain even for controlled portions.
12 and most important step) Be CONSISTENT.
