How about you go and do some research and learn something, you ignorant fuck.
>>
>>36015547

Upper back. You need them because if you don't, all the pushing motion will cause a forward strength imbalance, which will pull your shoulders forward and cause problems in your arms/upper back. Also, your hamstrings and glutes will become somewhat underdeveloped because squats tend to hit quads a little bit more, which will result in problems with your knees and groin. Your posture without deadlifts will be shit.

> deadlift
> back problems

Back problems are the least of your worries when doing the deadlift you'll likely injure something else like your hamstring if you're doing them frequently.

Besides that I know nobody who injured themselves on deadlifts. I do know some people who injured their wrists and shoulders benching and I also know people who had knee injuries such as meniscus tears, acl & lcl tears.

You can do some prevention on the above mentioned but most of the time you're just unlucky.

Deadlifts has worked wonders for my back. I'm too tall for my own good and have had back problems since puberty. Always done floor back exercises to control the pain. Since I started deadlifting 10x3 twice a week, I have absolutely no back pain. I don't try to lift heavy though, I stick to 50kg+bar and it works great for me.

I dont know why people think that strengthening your back will somehow damage it. The human back has an incredibly high shear force. If your back is held straight then it should never get injured. You fuck up your back by bending it. Deadlifts are the perfect back injury prevention exercise. I dare anybody to show me one cawe of somekne hurting their back with deadlifts and proper form.
>>
>>36015547
Ask yourself this: 1) what joints are changing in angle and 2) what joints aren't moving but there's something holding them so they don't rip apart?

For 1), in the deadlift, there's angle change at the knee joint and the hip joint, primarily. The knees and the hip have been flexed. We want to unflex them. That's where the extensors come in. What muscles work on the knee joint to extend it, as to increase its angle? The quadriceps. What muscles work on the hip joint to extend it, as to increase its angle? The hamstrings. (the hamstrings also attach to the knee joint, so it also helps to extend the knee, but the primary mover is still the quadriceps). For 2), almost everything: forearms, biceps, back extensors, glutes, and many others. They help stabilize your body so your body doesn't rip apart. They also get some work to a lesser extent.
>>
it feels good on my abs and forearms
>>
>>36015968
This. People freak out about dl's, but I've never known anyone who injured themselves while doing them. I've injured my shoulder benching though and that's super common.
Asically just don't try deadlifting 700 lbs right away and they're fine.

Romanian deadlifts. They have more posterior chain activation and are far safer than memelifts. The fact that anybody who isn't a powershitter still does deadlifts boggles my mind.

You're supposed to switch hand position every set you use it on. You're also only supposed to use mixed grip when normal overhand grip fails, so at most you should only do it once or twice per workout.

mixed grip ensures that the bar doesn't move throughout the lift. You can also drop weight and do double overhand grip.

For the record i did nothing but deads (no accessories, no lat pulldown, nothing) for the first year of my training, and ended up with two (mediocre) strips of erectors down my back, with pretty much nothing else around it. (See pic)

I do deadlifts to hit my lower back, and, to a lesser extent, my hamstrings
It also hits quads (depending on how much you bend your knees during), traps, core (in a roundabout sort of way), and even lats.
>>
>>36019738
is this what making it is like?
>>
>>36020331
it depends on many factors, but approximately 48.666...kg plus the bar

>>36018757
You only need an alternating grip if you are doing powerlifting. Otherwise, keep a hand-facing-inward grip to avoid bicep tears.
>>
>>36020331
1 pl8 = 45 pounds
lifting "1pl8" means one 45-pound plate on each side, plus the bar (which should weigh 45 pounds)
1pl8 = 135 lbs
2pl8 = 225
3pl8 = 315
>>
>>36020398
>>36020394
>>36020385
ok, now I got it, it's one of those big 20kg plates.
Do you guys know how much the bar from the squat rack weighs? the trainer told me it's between 15 and 18kg, 20 to be safe
>>
>>36020428
> one of those big 20kg plates.
How big? Does it have holes in it? (this is important)
>>
>>36020452
Idk how big, it has the hole in the middle and it's got 20kg written on it
>>
>>36020428
1pl8 = the bar + 90punds = 61,235 kg
>>
>>36020483
so...20 kg
>>
>>36020464
then it probably is 20kg, some plates have little holes around them so they weight less than what's written on them, you'd still be safer weighting them if you have access to a scale
