Now "De gustibus non est disputandum", in matters of taste there can be no dispute. So if somebody legitimately enjoys their steak well done, well, okay for them. My mom developed some kind of weird phobia of undercooked food at some point in her life, so she's obsessed with everything being "thoroughly" cooked. Didn't matter if it was steak or cookies, she'd burn it before she'd let herself or anyone else eat something possibly undercooked. I didn't even like steak until I left the house and had my first medium, but I guess I got some of her phobia secondhand because I probably won't go rarer than medium anytime soon.
