Just caved and paid 185.99 ameriburgers for a pair of these. Will they actually help my squatting significantly, or is it just a .001% improvement?
>>
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>>
>>35927634
I have a pair and love them. They really do work, don't listen to the poor fags who cant afford them
>>
they help a lot u big dumby
>>
They are good shoes that provide a number of advantages over alternatives to weightlifting shoes, but you are still the one lifting the weight. Maybe the numbers might not explode like you might expect, but your feet and ankles should be very safe in them and you should be able to hit depth in squat easier.

adipowers turned me from 0-mobility-fatty-always-on-toes-even-lowbar into perfect form ATG front squat king. I was lifting in running shoes before so that might have amplified the difference.

$180 buckaroos though? I payed 1/2 of that for my adipowers when they were on sale and I don't know if the romaleos are that much better.
>>
>>35927708
I got a pair of Romaleos 2 for $50 off craigslist. Would like to try some Adipowers sometime as I hear they are actually pretty different. Romaleos 2s are pretty damn heavy, but I think it is fine, maybe if I were doing Olympic weightlifting it would be more of an annoyance.
>>
>>35927634
I bought these lifting shoes and my squats improved so much I'll never lift again without them.

They are helpfull with your form, and help with heel drive. Besides that, dont expect to gain more than 10lbs right off
>>
I wear my roma2s everyday since i got them 3yrs ago but only indoors at the gym.yeah i squat 6 times per week.

Anyway, theyre still sturdy and in great condition. I eventually switched from the hard sole to the plastic one but thats about it.

If shoe companies made all their shoes like the roma2s theyd all fucking close down hah.

I think the roma3s are coming out for the olympics this summer and these shoes will tank in price.

Dipshit almost every powerlifter wears these kind of shoes when squating.

go back to /plfaggotg/
>>
>>35927634

Depends. When I hit 3 plate while squatting in generic running shoes I would hit depth and get shaky coming out of the hole because the soles were squishy. I got some basic adidas powerlifts and the shakiness went away so I was able stay tight and shoot up faster. But yeah you paid too much

They'll also help your benchpress if your form is more on the powerlifting side.

I have Romaleos, they massively improve my squat and also help when doing cleans. I even wear them for bench because they help your feet feel good and glued to the floor for dat leg drive.

Best gym purchase I ever made. The difference to your squat will be night and day.

Every second person at Powerlifting Australia meets has romaleos.

Iron Edge and Again Faster stock them.

Some website called jao.org.au is selling them for 100 dollarydoos but it looks like a fucking scam site I'm really suspect.
>>

>>
>>35929614
Powerlift are crossfit shit. You're not a crossfitter are you? Get powerperfect 2s if you can't afford Romas or Adipowers.
>>
>>35929856
Why are they called powerlift then?

Also what's the difference between crossfit footwear and squatting shoes?

Keep in mind here in spain there's really bad product availabilty to choose from.

I'll look into them though thanks
>>
>>35929920

I guess they just wanted to use the terms 'power' and 'lift' but they're not related to the sport.

Crossfit shoes are designed to be more of a hybrid. Smaller heel and more flexible shoe so you can run around and do crossfit stuff but also have the heel for your squatting and oly lifts.

Weightlifting shoes are a lot stiffer and more stable. Not so great for running around in but feel great to plant you in place while you squat.
>>
>>35929974
Fuck me. The powerlift 2 are on the way.

Anyway I couldn't afford the powerperfects.

Thanks for the heads up though
>>
>>35930134
Also they're a rubber heel and it will compress over time.

i didnt and now i havent squatted heavy for 3 years.
>>

Wait, what? Anyone else have this issue?
>>
>>35930435
no.

this is me
>>35929630

I gained 10kg on my squat literally on the first session of using the shoes, that was about 9 months ago. No problems at all.
>>
>>35929740
I got them for $150 on an Easter sale. Only thing I've actually bought from Iron Edge because their shipping fees are insane.
>>
>>35930134
Quite a few pro weightlifters compete in Powerlift 2s, probably because they couldn't afford the Power Perfect 2s or Adipowers. They seem to lift fine in them, but they probably would prefer the stiffer higher end shoes.
>>
>>35930435
no.
>>
>>35927756
What style squats and what's your working weight at?
>>
Does anyone here have any experience with Reebok crossfit lifters? Wlshoes gave a good review and they go kinda cheap here so I'm thinking of buying them.
>>
How much do I have to squat to wear these without looking like a twat?
>>
>>35930698
I never hear anything about them in the weightlifting community. I have seen the occasional decent lifter compete in them, but not many.
>>
>>35927634
They'll help a lot but you should've gone with something like Go-Win if you don't do weightlifting. Otherwise it's kind of worthless to pay 200 bucks for weightlifting shoes.

Either that or buy a pair of flat-soled shoes and use plates to raise your heels.

Still, you've already bought them I guess. Yeah they'll help a lot.
>>
>>35930720
Depends what you're doing. If you're actually weightlifting, 0 because you need shoes to lift properly. If you're lowbar ripsquatting then you look like a twat anyway.

It is silly to buy circa $200 shoes designed for a specific sport only to use them forone accessory lift in that sport. You'll probably even want to take them off for deadlifting unless you're doing weightlifting pulls. If you're getting fairly into powerlifting, then it is worth it for the squat, but it will depend if you even like having an elevated heel for the squat. The heel can be nice for the bench too.

You can test by squatting plates or a block or wood or whatever of approximately an inch thickness under the heels. It sounds like it would feel risky as hell but it's actually not too bad.

If you're lifting in squishy running shoes, most of which have a fairly high heel anyway, stop that shit.
>>
>>35927699
Squats (and every movement where you need to squat), press, it helps with every jumping movement, it helps with rows. A lot of movements benefit from weightlifting shoes
>>
>>35927968
Who came up with that design needs to be fired right the fuck now. The whole team.
>>
>>35930720
Half a plate unless you weigh like 100lbs/are a girl.

Also if you're not doing Oly lifting (or at least olympic style squats) it's probably not that useless unless you're a powerlifter squatting a lot of plates

Yeah, they kept going in that 'high tech' direction that no one wanted. The Adipowers were always divisive for that reason, and they still have a certain solid look to them. The new ones just look like some kind of basketball shoe or something.

This random guy got a cobbler to add a heel onto Adidas soccer shoes, and they look really good. Adidas should make something simple and classic looking like this
>>
>>35930753
The only thing I don't like doing in WL shoes are facepulls because I nearly fall over lmao. Also sumo deadlifts are awkward in them, but I have seen some people do it.
>>

I have these. Theyre ~ half the price of every other shoe I saw. Did i get screwed or is everyone else just paying for the name brand?

ah the old autism shoe meme

good work OP
>>
>>35927634
they're great but you paid too much

you can regularly get them for ~$150-160. i paid $95 for mine brand new on sale

but it's ok you'll love them. good purchase.
>>
>>35927845
it's obvious you either don't weightlift or are absolutely mediocre at it
>>
No they are fantastic shoes. The price tag is a little hefty, but they're worth the price. If you only wear the shoes in the gym, and don't wear them outside the last for ever. You will not need to buy a new pair of shoes, simply put.

They are good for people with slightly wider feet as well. Provide super great support and support. The shoes do not move on the ground, no sliding. The heel is great, slightly more than the adidas so that helps me a lot.
>>
just bought some powerlift 2.0's for $75 off of the Adidas website.

I can only squat 2 pl8 hahahaah
>>
>>35927659
Quit tripping you jerk
>>

Those look like dress shoes with yellow tape on them. Aka not good at all.
>>
>>35927634
I always thought these were for manlets trying to appear tall lmao, all the manlets in my gym are wearing these
>>
i got some power perfect 2's, they feel solid on my feet, when doing cleans and squats, i also reckon it has helped my form and my knee issues. i Still think i should have gone for the adipowers though, but they were twice the price of the power perfects and couldn't justify buying them, maybe this summer after the Olympics their price would come down.
