i do db hammer curl both as a vertical curl and an across-the-body curl and db pullovers. i also ride my bike a lot which requires a ton of grip strength to sprint fast.
i don't know if any of those activities would translate into better forearms tho. personally, i feel that frequent DL does the most for my forearms. being lean also helps.
