I injured my back falling down the stairs and then aggravated it by continuing to squat and deadlift with poor form.

The pain doesn't bother me much unless I try to squat / deadlift / pendlay row etc.

I hear that doctors can rarely do anything about lower-back problems so now I just do ABxCD

A - Back and bis
B - Chest and shoulders (chest focus)
C - Back and bis (different focus)
D - Shoulders and chest (shoulder focus)

It's quite fun.

brosplits are absolutely fine as long as youre going to the gym at least 5 days a week so you can hit every muscle group, and using a reasonable routine.

Lateral Raises 3x12
Skullcrushers 3x10

Workout B
Deadlift 1x5
Weighted Chins 3x5
Seated Cable row 3x12
Curl (or a variation, depends on you) 3x10

Add squats 3x5 on monday and friday till satisfied with legs.

Is it a muscular problem or a spinal one? If it's a muscular problem (eg pain on either or both side of the spine rather than in the middle of your back) you can help with regular stretching. It's worked with me.
