What is the best yogurt to buy? I got some Greek God yogurt which is super good, but it is also really expensive. Any suggestions?
>>
Fage full fat. It's easy to make your own yogurt btw.
>>
Trader Joe's is $5 for 2 pounds, tastes bretty good and has probiotics.
>>
Greek yogurt is more expensive than regular yogurt, but it also has like twice the number of calories. Where I live, the extra calories make it a better buy. I buy the unflavored, full fat because I usually eat it with something else or I use it in a recipe.

For whatever reason, though, the shitty single cups of sugary dannon and yoplait are usually the cheapest.

fage 2%, i only buy it when its on sale for $1 and then i buy them all and ask for rainchecks for 25-30 more. i havent paid that overpriced retail for fage in well over a year now

but they arent the best price per calorie are they?

Stonyfield Whole Milk yogurt

I think they are depending on the sale price. Usually yoplait or dannon or store-brand is like .25-.35. This gives like 120 calories. So you get like 350 calories per dollar.

A quart (4 servings) of plain, whole-milk yogurt is like $3 where I live and has 600 calories. 200 calories per dollar.

A quart of whole-milk greek yogurt is like $4, I think. It has like 1200 calories though, which is 300 calories per dollar.

Of course, I don't think shit sugar yogurt has much protein.

NOOSA YOGURT. That shit is better than ice cream.

If you're sweating the cost, you need to make your own. Look up a recipe, but it basically boils down to:

>Heat gallon of milk to 165
>Allow milk to cool to 115
>Add a half of cup of warm milk to a half cup of cold yogurt, mix
>Add tempered yogurt to milk
>Set somewhere warm - you can put it on a hot pad, or in the oven with the pilot light on
>Let sit for 12+ hours
>Strain whey+water using cheese cloth if you want thick greek sytle yogurt
>Mix that shit back up for a thinner, but more protein packed yogurt.

For about 8 bucks you can prepare an entire gallon of the stuff.

Pro-tip: buy some lactobacillus reuteri supplements, pop a couple caps open and mix it into your brew.

Pic related. L. Reuteri proven to drastically increase testicle size in mice.

is there any store bought yogurt with L. Reuteri ??
>>
Americuck here. I hear wonderful things about Quark and would like to try it.

What are /fit/ 's thoughts on Kafir?
>>
I've got some yogurt related questions while this thread is still up.

I don't typically consume a lot of dairy up until recently, is this responsible for my back acne popping up more frequently than before? I cleaned up my eating habits overall except now I eat a cup of yogurt every morning with my oatmeal.

The yogurt I eat in the morning is yoplait vanilla/strawberry/strawberry cheesecake. Is this an okay yogurt to be eating, specifically while cutting, or should I switch? If I should switch, what should I go to?

NYRfag, first time trying to make it, don't wanna fuck it up due to ignorance.
>>
Not sure if it's in america but chobani no fat is by far the best yogurt you can buy. Hands down. 17gm protein and 7gram of sugar per serve.
>>
>>35702479

Nah, cause L Reuteri is a strain found only in human titty milk.
>>
>>35702616
Chobani was founded in new york
>>
>found a place where a could buy really cheap cottage cheese and yogurt,
>start to eat both for a week
>macros and calories are on point
>feeling proud because of perfect macros
>second week
>wake up
>look at myself in the mirror
>face full of acne, not just red lumps but yellow disgusting lumps
>make an hypothesis "dairy is giving me acne"
>stop eating dairy
>one week passes face is clean again, there's still some red tiny lumps.
>tfw have to stop consuming dairy if I want to have a clean face
>>
>>35701922
Seconding Noosa. Don't know about the macros, but damn is it good.

Why is there so much sugar in yogurt? The greek yogurt i have has like 10g of sugar, and its pretty much all the yogurts i can choose from. Is this the standard?
>>
>>35701180
Ive made my own greek yogurt a few times. It takes time and ends up costing more than grocery store yogurt. Yogurt is so fucking cheap.
>>
>>35705152
shoprite and chobani greek has less than 4 grams of sugar m8.
>>
>>35703583
You dumb nigger;
>get at least a teaspoon of yoghurt
>get bowl
>line the inner surface of the bowl with yoghurt
>pour milk into yoghurt-lined bowl
>yoghurt contains lactobacillus, they'll oxidise the lactose in the milk to lactic acid which will cause casein and other milky broteins to coagulate
>enjoy yoghurt

Place the whole thing somewhere warm, even fucking wrap that shit in a blanket if you live in Siberia-tier places
>>
>>35702613
It could give you acne. For one thing, there's sugar in it. It could also be lactose intolerance (inability to digest the sugar in milk products).

You could switch to unflavored and just add in honey or fruit of your own.

Chiobani is shot teir Greek yogurt compared to da god Fage
>>
I like a lot of different kinds that are 1) Full fat 2) Not greek
>>
>>35701922
They only increased testicle size by 5-10% though
The testosterone boost experienced by the rats was much bigger, however, which is more than enough reason to supplement l. Reuteri
>>
Whats you guys opinion on this one? Seems good to me, and tastes great.

>>35701511
not that good compared to what I'm posting

>>35702616
no fat is pointless, dairy fat is pretty good for you
>>
>>35709624
just add protein to normal yogurt, that's what they did for that yogurt anyway, kind of pointless

I like to get the cheap yogurt and add milk protein to it (chocolate flavored)
