Riddle me this, /fit/

It has been proven that plant-based diets are absolutely amazing for our overall health. That is, if we were to eat a diet composed entirely of plant-foods, an herbivore diet, we can survive optimally. Yet, if we were to eat a carnivorous diet, we absolutely could not live optimally.

Can you tell me what this implies?
>>
Why criticize the carnivorous diet instead of the prevalence of sugars and general awareness towards diets and exercise?
>>
>>35674077
Being big > Being healthy and living like 3 more years
>>
plant diets kill people.
>>
But neither of those statements are true.

We are omnivores, get over it already veggiecuck.
>>
OP is a dreamy boy who thinks /fit/ is about being fit and healthy. What a dumbass.
>>
>>35674077
That you're a vegan shill.

What the fuck are you talking about? This makes no sense.

>but muh meat eating friends called me a girl for eating vegetables ;__;
>>
>>35674114
Spoken like someone with no experience on that issue.

>>35674144
Are you a dumbass? Don't talk about nutrition when you haven't got a clue.

>>35674158
Look at all pronstars, actors, people who live to 100. They are all skinny. The first signs you will get when you gain too much fat is erectile dysfunction.

>>35674093
What?
>>
>>35674077
It implies that dumb dyel faggots like you are going to continue shitting up this board with your pretentious veganism
>>
>>35674077
people who live the longest in the world eat meat. Look it up.
>>
The answer to that riddle is that the parameters are incorrect, you have been either misled, or are attempting to mislead.

Either way, the riddle fails before it even starts.
>>
>>35674077
Humans are not carnivores, we're omnivores.

The second longest living population (Okinawans on their traditional diet) have only 3% of their calories from meat. The longest living population, the California 7th day adventist vegetarians, don't eat meat at all. The longest living subpopulation in the latter are male vegans.

Why would I want to live longer when I could not eat delicious meat?
Also why would I want to live longer being skinny weak and live with nowhere near the size or strength i could have eating meat??

I dont mind dying a couple years earlier if I dont have to spend my life living as a shell of a man I could have been you vegan cuck
>>
>>35674205
We ARE omnivores. Maybe the typical arguments you hear (teeth, etc.) are baseless or inconclusive, but we have numerous enzymatic pathways to metabolize everything -- from meat, to veggies, to grain.

No vegan has ever lived to 100. Reports on Vegetarians living to 100 are mixed. Meat makes you live long.
>>
Humans are OMNIVORES

Yes, most of your diet needs to be fruits and veggies. No sane person is arguing that. But animal proteins and fats are extremely important to our diets.
>>
>>35674295
Your ordering it wrong but whatever.
Okinawans eat little pork, but they eat it.
People from Sardinia, Italy (where my maternal grandmother's lineage is from) live exceptionally long with a Mediterranean diet but particularly consume a lot of milk and cheese. Given my genetic predisposition, I'd rather adopt this diet.
>>
>>35674407
Whats your point? Eating milk fats and oils helps you live too? Well no shit, I eat them too but I also eat meat. Geez you vegan cucks think people who eat meat literally eat nothing but meat. Guess what, we eat vegetables and fats too. We get the best of both worlds. Being strong and jacked and thanks to our intake of vegetables and healthy fats healthy too.

>A large percentage of Okinawan meals utilize pork as an essential ingredient.
http://www.okicent.org/docs/500s_willcox_okinawa_diet.pdf
"The main dish is a stir-fried vegetable dish (called champuru), which includes such vegetables as bitter melon (goya), accompanied by a side dish, such as konbu seaweed and konnyaku. This is typically simmered with a hint of oil, bonito dashi broth (for flavor), and small amounts of fish or boiled pork."
Small amounts, looks like it apparently still never goes over 3% of calories

In 1979, not really relevant to their traditional diet recorded in the 1940s

Have a peer-reviewed source for the claim? I can't find the article they're citing

The average centenarian Okinawan male is like 4'10".

Care to post something even semi relevant? it is pretty common knowledge (CVD & Cancer) risk factors include height.

Okinawan cooking "begins with pig and ends with pig." Everything from the flesh to the ears, innards, skin, blood and feet are consumed—underscoring the saying that "every part of a pig can be eaten except its hooves and its oink."

So are Okinawan's just immune to pig cancer?

I'm not op I have no idea about this whole Okinawan subject but it seems flawed in general to base the dietary needs of the whole human race on one group of people

Guys I gotta be honest, I've recently become vegan not because of health reasons but because I'm privileged enough to not need to kill animals to sustain myself.

Seriously--does this make me a gigantic faggot? I'm a big career guy and really into business and I'm legitimately concerned about this effecting people's perception of me and my future in business. Help
>>
>>35675201
The okinawa thing is just vegancucks trying to say that the longest living group of people in the world are close to "vegan".

So they use dietary habits during ww2 and stupid shit like that to support their claim.

Perpetuated by shillingveganfacts.org where a no-gains goofball hack attempts to tell people how okinawan's eat. The quote is from Naomichi Ishige who is the Director of the national Museum of Ethnology in Osaka, whose works include "The History and Culture of Japanese Food", saying that they are full of shit.
>>
>>35675201
Vegetarians have a much higher risk of cancer than meat eaters. A direct contradiction to the previous picture claiming that meat causes cancer.
>>
>>35675245
Most people don't care.

Don't preach to people and no one will give a flying fuck

Unless you are taking clients out to lunch or dinner and shit like that. Then you will be most likely looked at strange, and unfortunately the conversation will undoubtedly head in the direction of your eating habits. Instead of something important.
>>
>>35675245
Eating the aborted chicken fetuses makes you manlier. Business types prefer dealing with manly men.
>>
>>35675245
If you are having a business related dinner you should eat meat. Seriously being a veganfag triggers most men so just order a steak, same goes for boozing.
>>
>>35675290
I know man this is what I'm dreading. I feel like being vegetarian is far more accepted than vegan so maybe I should be flexible and be ok with dairy or eggs on these occasions. Most restaurants have a vegetarian option but being vegan always causes a scene
>>
>>35675280
Probably because vegetarians (not vegans) consume alot more dairy than anyone else (to make up for the meat).
>>
eating a combination of plant & meat is good enough for me.

thanks for taking the time to make this post though
