I want to do squats, but I'm a beginner so I don't know about the routines(I know the technique). I don't know how often and how many I should do per day.
Should I do them in the morning and evening or is once a day alright?
What about 100 of them? 150? Does it make sense to go higher?
I'm very light(140lbs 5'9) so I might need to do more to get an effect.

Bodyweight squats are good for bodyweight endurance and calorie burning.
You will not get any stronger doing them, if you are dieting you may get slightly slimmer.
I do 150 (25x6) alternating with the same set for pullups to get some light cardio and endurance in.

It's ok, I don't do them to get stronger.
I just want a firm ass.

>I don't do them to get stronger.
>I just want a firm ass.
You mean you don't want them bigger. If they get firmer they get stronger, which is a good thing.

In other words, you want more muscle in your ass. Therefore, yes, you do want to get stronger.
