>go to a busy gym in Central London
>always at least 7-10 people in the freeweight area
>I am literally the only person who squats above 110kg

wtf. I am like near the bottom in terms of bench press or OHP - what gives?

/fit/ told me 110kg was meh-tier
>>
>>35657357
It is meh tier.

People just obsess over their upper bodies.

Depends how much you weigh.

>/fit/ told me 110kg was meh-tier
people pretend to lift more on the internet. shocking, i know.
>>
>>35657357
Depends what kinda gym you go to. Commercial gyms have people that dont squat much, if it all. 110 kg at a powerlifting gym is literally "weaker than a girl" tier
>>
>>35657410
Just start out really light and work your way up slowly

bro don't give out your fitness secrets for free like this
delete your post and start a youtube channel to monetise this shit

i dont understand how people cant squat 150kg or some shit, for atleast 1 rep lol. Its literally 10 month into lifting type weight
>>

>been lifting 1 year
>most ive ever squatted is 80kg once
when does it end?
>>
>>35658235
>Been liftan a year and a half
>Use to squat 80kg x15 to warm up

Sorry m8, but you're not gonna make it
>>
>>35657368
False. You nerds obsess over doing squats and end up with tree trunks for legs and mediocre upper body.
>>
>>35658353
>what is reasonable middle ground

Besides, the difference is that the squat isn't called the king of exercises for nothing.

Neglecting curlbro exercises is like neglecting foreplay.
Neglecting squats is like neglecting sex.
>>
>>35657357
Maybe they're just not trying. For instance I love my squats, but I seriously don't understand why anyone would want to squat something like 110kg. I value my knee joints and think my legs look just fine squatting *LMAO* 40kg. I could probably squat more, but I simply don't want to even try. I would rather make upper body gains.

I know I'll get called a faggot for this.
>>
>>35658426
I didn't say neglecting squats is a good idea. Just overdoing them is retarded, unless you're a powerlifter and want to compete. I see a lot of people on forums that can't do pullups and have a shit ohp but brag about squating and benching.

I can squat barely above 110kg too and have never seen anyone in my gym do higher than 185(pounds of course) let alone 245 atg for reps like me.
Not many people on /fit/ actually lift a lot. They just watch videos of top athletes who are probably on juice doing numbers like 405 like nothing and compare others to the same standard.
>>
>>35657980
Squats are hard. You need more mobility for a squat than any other major lift (I think). There's also different definitions on what a proper squat is. If I did half squats like most of the guys in my gym, I bet I could squat 150kg for a rep.

I was in London last summer. Nearly every single male I interacted with was either extremely doughy or an effeminate lanklet. Girls were literally swarming me because I had muscle definition.
