Look. There are definitely people out there where their weight gets to severely under/overweight heights because of trauma and mental instability. That is a very real and very sad thing.
I usually just lurk but, god damn, this pisses me off. I had a friend who was MASSIVELY overweight, like 400+ lbs. and growing because she used food as a coping mechanism for years and years to keep people away from her due to being constantly sexually abused as a child. She had to go through A LOT of therapy to get these underlying issues sorted out when she realized she was not going to live long enough to see her own children graduate high school.
She worked hard, she literally worked her ass off, and I'm proud as fuck for her (she's down to a healthy weight after bypass surgery and keeps her diet in check, I don't know if she had the skin removal surgery yet though).
I think when people ask here, "Why do you hate fat people?", with me, I don't hate fat people.
What I hate, with a PASSION, are people who make excuses and are delusional that their weight is okay when in fact it is a fucking danger to them. I can't tell you how many times me and the nurses in the hospital I worked at would laugh at the HAES bullshit. You wouldn't glorify anorexia so why in the fucking WORLD would you glorify obesity? It's not beautiful, it's not sexy, it's a death-sentence.
These people are SO in denial it is honestly unbelievable sometimes. It makes me angry when they have the resources to exercise that other disabled people would die to have yet they just want to pull the "buy my pizza and touch my butt uwu" tumblr logic. These idiots It fucking pisses me off and I'm sorry for ranting.
So, guys, I was just writing a comment on 9kek because I frequent that site and write hateful comments on stuff that offends me because it lacks any fucking basic logic and sensibility.

The one on the bottom right is doing a pose called headstand. It is one of the first intermediate inversions you'll learn and is pretty easy to get into. The weight is distributed across your forearms ~90% and the rest on your head to keep from falling.
Not to discredit their effort, they have had to be doing yoga consistently for a few months before they can get these poses down long enough to take a decent photo.
There are plenty of overweight women at the yoga studio I go to, not hamplanet size but just general "mom" size.
Yoga is best as a complimentary to another exercise. I'm sure there are some cases where just doing yoga alone can help someone lose weight. But it's got to be a more intense class that can raise your heart rate.
Some of the more fitter people at my studio do a range of other sports or fitness activity: running, martial arts, lifting. Those are the ones that are really hnnnnggggggggggg.
Yoga also involves being present and there are many 21/30/40 day challenges that involve tracking your food intake and changing things slowly to improve your quality of life.
Though, some people get off the wagon after the challenge is over, success is not impossible and they will lose that weight after years of work. And I do feel that some will be encouraged to pick up other activities too, running seems to be the most popular in my area.
I kinda miss when these threads were about funny stories and not just reposting the same old pictures along with obvious trolls from tumblr over and over again.
