Just thought to myself fuck it and ordered one of these. Adidas has an unbroken record of superb sport shoes in my life. What can i expect in terms of technique at compounds? Are they worth it?
Also, shoe thread
>>
shit shoes bro sorry they are not good and strong they will make your feet tremble while lifting :/
>>
They aren't a garuanteed improvement, especially if you don't have much trouble staying upright. After two years of owning them I still prefer low bar squatting in chucks (sorry rip), but they definitely helped with front squatting and high bar squats. Tried deadlifting in them for a few months but wasn't feeling it.
>>
>>35640755
A massive amount of padding that take a while to get compressed. Much betger than the running shoes I was squatting in
>>
>>35640755
These are decent shoes. I bought a pair a few months ago and haven't looked back. They have helped a lot with squats and ohp, still go barefoot for diddlys.
dont know what this guy>>35640842
is talking about, i have found them immensely helpful with stability.
>>
>>35640854
i dont like deadlifting in em either. I have a pair of romaloes or however the hell you spell it. they're great though, pricey, but I got em as an early Christmas present so I didn't care
>>
>>35640755
I like to wear Chucks.
A lot of guys you will see at the gym who look like they have been going to the gym for a long time, wear them.
>>
>>35640755
Shoulda bought the Power Perfect 2 instead.
>>
>>35640842
i have no problem lifting with these. even when im doing 340 3x5.

yes, there is VERY minimal compression but it is negligible unless you're squatting 500+ i would assume
>>
adipower are better op

now u gotta buy it twice
>>
Just go barefoot. Lifting shoes are a meme.

That being said I've never tried them.

Those shoes will be just okay for beginner for 6-12 months. The sole is padded not rigid and as a result it will compress resulting in a loss of stability. They are not a good weightlifting shoe next time get Adidas actual weightlifting shoe the Adipowers or pick up some Nike Romaleos. I personally have a pair of Adipowers, and I absolutely love them.

they are entry level shoes, still much better than no lifting shoes.
>>
ATTENTION
If you are considering buying a pair of oly lifting shoes, look out for good deals, with the olympics coming up, adidas and nike will probably be releasing a new model, and selling their older ones at a reduced price.

I wear them for everything but my deadlifts.
>>
>>35641412
Sole doesn't compress as easily
heel on pp2 is 0.75 inches
on powerlifts its 0.6

>>
>>35641554
yea who the hell uses gear specific things on certain sports? what a waste of money. who needs running shoes to run? or use cleats for soccer? its a waste of money.

if you are lifting to be competitive sure, but snug fit incompressible flat heeled shoes are just fine like what you posted.

I squat in pic related

bretty good, the future laces get nice and tight

make sure you buy true to size though
>>
>>35640755
The slight lift on the sole always throws my balance off.

I have a harder time squatting and deadlifting in these than I do barefoot.
>>
>>35642540
I got similar laces on my biking shoes, wouldn't want to go back to normal laces.

I like them. Never felt any instability and because their heel is only half-height, they don't bother me when doing deadlifts, which was the main argument for me to buy 'real' weightlifting shoes.
>>
I think they fuck up my knees.

After I started using lifting shoes and switched to high bar, my knees have started to hurt a lot. I can still walk alright but if I crouch down and sit there for a few seconds I'm having trouble/pain in getting up. I've almost given up on back squats and I do only front squats because it's not as bad for some reason.
>>
>>35642711

Why would you deadlift with an elevated heel? Aren't you supposed to be flat for those?
>>
>>35643063
do lowbar theyre better for ur knees
>>
>>35642540
What Adidas shoes are those ?
>>
>>35643105

I did for a few months. But I found that my quads weren't getting developed at all so I switched to high bar.

thats what front squats are for
>>
>>35643180

So I should alternate front squats and low bars squats?
>>
I lift barefoot
>>
>>35641443
Fuck, i have the same colour of shoes.
>>
>>35643206
yes

or not necessarily alternate but do both
>>
>>35642540
you have to buy a new pair if the lace system breaks, good luck m8
>>
>>35643518
reviews say the system is sturdy as fuark tho
>>
I have pic related.

Dunno why but i feel a bit... idk, embarrased maybe.. using them. Because I can only squat 150kg for 5 whereas most guys i see with this shoe squats much more
>>
>>35643744
these shoes have come down a lot in price. they were only $90 when I bought them. Compared to other weightlifting shoes at $60 , they look a lot sturdier. I just started 2 months ago and didn't want to buy an okay pair of shoes to have to buy another pair later so I just got these. I still have to work on my mobility but they have helped my highbar squatting a lot. If I can wear these to squat less than 2 plates giving 0 fucks, you can deal with your shit.

I can't even squat 2pl8 either
>>
Which cheap lifting shoes would you guys recommend for a broke ass student
>>
>>35641443
Why is there a hand grenade attached to the squat-plug?
>>
>>35644918
its inflatable to make intra-abdominal pressure like the valsalva maneuver, getting out of the bottom of an ATG squat is easy.
>>
>>35643125
What's your max squat?
>>
>>35645046

2pl8 lowbar 1RM

High bar 5RM 82kg
>>
I bought these off someone for $130 (RRP in Australia is like $230 or you can buy them from US and then get rekt by the conversion + shipping), basically brand new. These have definitely helped my depth with squats, not to mention I do feel like I have better support
>>
>>35645061
Your quads are small because you have a beginner squat, not because of the bar being an inch higher or lower on your back.

I don't know if weight should determine whether you wear lifting shoes or not, I think it should be more based on technique like. So if you find that at lower weights you
