It is time for a recovering skelly thread. If fatties can have one, why can't we?

This is for all the mortal coils of our skinny, meatless brethren of /fit/.

Here's how it goes on the daily life of a recovering skelly:
>ribs are showing, being a weakling
>fed up, start lifting
>realise it is 70% diet
>start the perma bulk, puke on first day
>couple months in, 198 cm and 81kgs
>get some virus, lose all 5 kilos of gains via shitting and puking for a week

Just started lifting again after recovering from sickness, all my lifts gone back to where I was at the very beginning. How is your bulking going, fellow skellingtons?

Any OC success stories for motivation or something? Any tips on getting your body to accept all that food that you have to chew down?

I need help with this shit cause all I do when I'm trying to hit my macros is gagging and feeling like puking all day.
>>
>>35625350
feels nice to see it happens to others too.

Just keep at it brah, we're all gonna make it
>>
People complain about being fatfucks but the true curse is being skelly.
>>
Aim for a gain of 2lbs a month, not 5 kilos in a couple months. I understand you want to get out of skelle mode asap but the excess fat will just time you have to waste cutting, instead of making proper lean gains.
>>
>>35625372
Not it's not. Skelle is easymode. All you have to do is eat.

Well, for fat fuck mode, all oyu have to do is not eat so, that's that.

For a skelly, it is harder to eat than not to eat, just like with fatties.

I'm not saying it's harder or anything, it may be easier because there is no risk of excess fat (although you could potentially get stretchmarks but that would be with heavy roiding I guess)

But I can easily puke if I ate a lot. Then it was for nothing and it feels bad too.

>>35625381
well, those couple months were 4 so I guess you could say that I was close to gaining 2lbs a month. Trouble is, I have a hard time keeping maintenance as well.
Is there any kind of food that doesn't make you filled but is actually make you hit macros?

All I can think of is protein shakes made with water or something like that.
>>
I went from a BMI of 15 to 20 through eating and lifting more, and now through lifting and eating less again I'm down to 17.

how to gain weight:
>sheer amount, six meals a day and never miss any of them
>caloric density (to some extent)
>consistent lifting

how to lose it again:
>eat how you want to eat
>get injured

I'm still close to Auschwitz mode at
6'2 and 170.

I've been on a lean gain diet these past 4 months, although I broke my wrist 2 months ago, I've continued to gain 15 lbs.
>>
>>35625350
>mortal coil
I see what you did there.
See you in the hearth!
>>
The worse about being skelly is that you look ridiculous in normal clothes. Clothes designed for skellies make you look like a faggot.
>>
>>35625433
never use protein shakes as meal replacements
>>
>>35626013
>you look ridiculous in normal clothes
And a fatty doesn't? A skelly can always pack a few layers and look more normal, while a fatty will always be a gigantic blob. I'm a skelly myself and have used layers to hide all my life. Being skelly is more socially acceptable today than to be obese. I struggle to eat and all that but I'm glad I don't have to walk into a gym fat, desu.

OP here btw
>>35626016
but I don't have the time to make food ffs

All I can do is the three normal meals and some supplements in-between and sometimes this involves proton shakes for breakfast.

>>35625978
yeah just started playing again

>>35626078
well this is true

>I'm glad I don't have to walk into a gym fat, desu
I always get the shaming looks and people mentioning that it's good that I STARTED.
Forever a DYEL...

>>

Same way you break anything else
>>

Getting piss drunk and falling off something?
>>
>>35626960

my older brother broke his wrist when he fell off the jungle gym back when we were little kids. i was so scared when it happened because i didn't understand why he was crying so loud, i thought he was going to die. ever since then i always make sure he knows how important he is to me.

I've done it twice without the drunk part. Falling off stuff trying to do stupid stunts always works.

When I was in highschool I was 6ft and 120lbs. Despite my hardest efforts to eat 5 - 6 meals a day I did not fucking gain weight.

Even in my 20's the biggest I ever got was 160, and that was after gym4x per week, 5 meals per day, and smoking weed.

I went through a stressful work period after I hit that point and lost all my gains in like 6 weeks.

Naturally I am about 145. its just so damn hard to put anything on. Especially under stress.
>>
>>35625350

Cardio.

I know this sounds INSANE. but trust me on it. It took me years to figure this out.

Basically the way it works is this: the cardio shocks the system into craving more food. Like even beyond the cals burned in the cardio. Plus you are more relaxed with cardio in your life and youll sleep better. These 2 aspects lead to appetite increase as well.

SO. I do 5 miles per week. With that and weights I was putting on weight. Obviously you only need a little cause we're skinny fags, but throw in some cardio, im 100% serious.
>>
>>35629349
Might i suggest a book, The 4hour body by Tim Ferriss. In it he shows how to gain 30lbs of muscle in one month. Which he did under controlled studies at U Colorado as have others. Basically, you only train once every 3rd day, and eat a TON.
>>
>>35625372

This.

its so much harder to force food down a skinny stomach than it is for fatties to just put down the fucking fork.
>>
>>35629374

thx

>>35629340
Youre a string bean and youre gunna fraud? Why not get a few years of natty lifting before deciding whether roids are for you..

note taken. I've started running a little recently, it's hard to learn the technique, though. I found this video insightful, and the "cadence" thing he talks about seems to work.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSIDRHUWlVo

I'm considering incorporating what he says about learning to run with a skipping-rope, too - as a way of avoiding "over-stepping".

the difference between 5'1 135lbs and 7'1 225lbs is only 800kcal a day lol

yeah skipping rope can give you some nice calf gains

I'm 170/78kg @ 6'4/193cm. I've put on about 20 lbs in a year and have passed what was originally my goal weight. Turns out I was quite deluded in what is an appropriate weight for someone who is as tall as I am because I'm still skinny as fuck. My goal now is 200lbs, gaining a minimum of a lb per week. From there I'm going to reassess as to whether I keep bulking or cut.

Will post pictures in a minute.
>>
>>35629373
Huh. You know, I tried to pick up running before and I quite enjoyed it but I couldn't get myself to wake up that early all the time.

I didn't lose any weight if I recall correctly. I might try that again. I wanted to incorporate it into my weekly routine somehow anyways.

How do you guys deal with the winter when running? I want to do this but that would be running ankle deep in snow with a sharp cold wind in your face.

I usually catch a cold if I run in that weather.

Similar situation with the virus here. I worked out for the first time in my life, probably made so many fucking little tears, I was sore the first day and right now I've got the flu and can barely move my arms whatsoever without intense soreness bordering on pain.
I've worked out before but never ate properly for it so I never got big, but I'm gonna try now.

I'm wondering whether I have to eat my requisite protein PLUS another bunch of calories per day or I can keep it mostly the same and just go nuts with the protein and I'll see results?
>>
>>35629564

> winter

If there isn't any snow out I just bundle up and run. But in most cases I go to a gym and swim instead when it is too cold.
>>
>>35629340

I'm not a /fit/ regular but I have a question

Do you guys seriously shave your torso

greetings spooky skeltals, i have been going to the gym for a month now and idk what the fuck to do with my diet. Should i eat a fucking ton? is it K if it's shitty/unhealthy food?

should i start with the whey and shit for maximum brotein?

pic unrelated
>>
>>35630405
No. Hairy beasts are hot.
>>
>>35630429
To gain weight you only need to eat a little more than you do now, like a sandwich more a day or something like that. The important thing is to do it consistently over time, and lift.
>>
>>35630514
overeat slightly, i get it. Thanks

>>
>>35625350
The reason you're not hungry as a skelly is because you don't do any physical activity. No, lifting weights at your own pace doesn't count. You need to be forced to raise your heart rate and sustain it. Then when you're exhausted and sore, you'll be hungry because your body will shut down without food.
>>
>>35630605
What's wrong with the smiff machine? IT sounds like you're not ganna make it.
>>
>>35630683
not OP but similar situation - I think you're right in theory but I'm concerned that my body will shut down, I'm not exactly healthy. I might try it out, though.

If you start training hard enough with a goal to get strong, your appetite will follow.

Think of eating as the only way to recover from all the training that you'd love to do.

The training is the important part, the diet just allows you to keep going.

>inb4 the bulk that never stopped.
>>
>>35630681
>>35630661

Hah, I had to do it for a role. I keep it clean otherwise.
>>
>>35630778
>I'm concerned that my body will shut down
Which is what eating and getting rest prevents. Nothing worth having comes without risks.
>>
>>35630778

So eat fucking healthy. Talk to a doctor if you're that concerned.
