So /fit/ help me here, I am a total noob on exercising and I am a male on his late twenties, I am not quite fat but fat enough and have a really bad physical condition.

I want to start with some routines from http://darebee.com/

but help me undestand something, what happens with the lose skin, I see stories like

metro.co.uk /2015/05/22/woman-who-refused-to-be-a-fat-bride-loses-six-stone-has-killer-abs-for-her-big-day-5209961/

and then things like

https://youtu.be/CpKDteQ3FIQ?t=2m5s

it's there a trick or a way to lose weight and no have that hanging extra skin ?

I am as fat as the girl in the first article.

thanks in advance

read the sticky.

its there for a reason, to help idiots like you get started.

Someone has something less edgy ?
>>

Also something useful, the sticky doesn't say much about that question in particular.

Loose skin usually occur due to fast weight loss, I recommend you to lose weight slowly so that your skin has time to adjust. So that means if you go on very low calorie deficit then the possibility of getting loose skin will be high since you lose fat and muscle fast. Find your TDEE and eat like minus 100~200 cal while watching your scale and go hard on exercising. If you're dropping 2lbs a week then you're weight loss speed's good. If you're as fat as that woman then you might still get loose skin but there are surgeries available.
>>
>>35621597
I think at that size it's probably 50/50 as to whether you get loose skin. The main thing would be to stay hydrated and moisturize your skin. Either way I doubt you'd get too much excess skin
>>
>>35621597
forget about loose skin. it's nothing compared to being fat. don't even bother thinking about it, if you really give a shit then cocoa butter and vitamin E oil help
>>

>>35621730
OK this is actually helpful thanks,

So the trick it's keep excercicing, and loose weight on a regular but slow pase while keeping your skin well moisturized.

I plan to start with cardio since I am totally aware of my physical condition, i get tired going up the stairs of a mall. :/

and then some weight lifting.
>>
If you're as big as that woman you don't really have to care about loose skin.
As long as you're just unfit, cardio and lifting will do the job just fine without needing to worry about skin problems later on.
When you're bigger than that go for a slow weight loss so your skin has time to adapt the changes that happen to your body.
And lift. There are so many people that don't lift while losing fat and end up as skeletons in a big tent of human skin. Lifting, cardio and a small deficit in calories and you'll be good.
>>
>>35621775
Excellent, thanks man I will follow your advice.
>>
Also before I forget,

What about stretch marks ? Hydration and skin moisturizing helps with that as well ?

This is just a wives tale that gets perpetuated on reddit and www.fatmoms.com/weightloss.

Truth be told it has little to do with the speed at which you lose weight, and almost entirely on how much weight you intend to lose.

The higher % of your starting weight you intend to lose = the higher the likelihood of loose skin.

Once you start approaching a loss of 35-50% of your initial bodyweight you're talking almost a guarantee of SOME loose skin.

Now if you wanna be cute you can start investigating influences like genetics (whites being the most likely to get loose skin) and gender (women being the more likely to get loose skin), and then you could also investigate the rate of weight loss for smaller influences.

But people also get baited by images like the OP picture where theres drapes of skin everywhere, these guys are OUTLIERS.

Majority of people with loose skin you're talking some lower abdominal creases and that's it, not drapes of skin hanging off your body.

Jesus.

Moisturising isn't going to do shit for your loose skin, and it's not going to do shit for stretch marks.

Topical ointments do not penetrate to the level of the dermis that is effected by scar tissue, nor to a level that's going to contribute to repairing skin elasticity.

These threads are always a cluster fuck of retards talking about "muh baby oil" or "muh coca butter".

Stretch marks are scars, they are not resolved by moisturising them, they mature naturally like all scar tissue does until it reaches a slightly offset skin tone like a grey/white.

Interesting, I might read up on that speed part more because I too am curious about the speed part. I do understand on the how much weight you intend to lose part though. If you imagine a fully inflated balloon going completely deflated it will get saggy, it's kinda like that.
But either way fast weight loss still is pretty risky, it can eat up your muscle pretty easily and wack up hormone levels. Especially for women their period could stop so I would still recommend going slow on weight loss.

>says he's not "really" fat
>worries about loose skin

yeah, sure thing yokozuna! also if you're asking about loose skin, then you're just looking for an excuse, *any* excuse to not even start. so just give up now, fattie.
>>

Newer research shows short periods of high deficit are the best for overall fat loss & muscle preservation without causing hormonal disruption.

By high they mean ~1k deficit a day.

Speed really is one of the lesser factors re: loose skin.

You can google this shit, which is really what you should have been doing instead of posting here.

90% of people on here know fuck all about anything.

But if you had of gone to google you'd of found plenty of actual plastic surgeons and cosmetic specialists discussing this exact issue with detail.

Just don't worry about it.

Having a bunch of loose skin is still better than being extremely fat.
>>
>>35622024

> loose skin

> displays tissue that's full of fat.

a lot of people also are just fat and think that they have loose skin, when in reality they just need to lose more weight.
>>
>>35622024
All right, thanks man

>>35621971
I am actually not that fat... but i have a belly, the question nature it's for other reasons, thanks for the sarcasm anyway ;)

>>35621884
What about those things that are specifically for scars ? would that help ?
>>
>>35621597
READ THE STICKY
YEAH I COULD WASTE BOTH YOUR AND MG TIME BY BRIEFLY COVERING SOME OF IT.
IF YOU GIVE A FUCK READ IT
>>
>>35622035
There's probably some fatty tissue in there, just because of the nature of loose skin in question. But the fact that he can pull it out like that so easily shows that he definitley has lost a lot of weight.

Are you implying that if you lose all of your body fat that your skin magically shrinks instantly? That shit takes time.
>>
>>35622055

There are literally no topical ointments that have any significant effect on your stretch mark.

The majority of 'success stories' you read with stretch marks almost ALWAYS occur during the initial 12 months where the stretch mark is classified as striae rubra (literally red scar).

People report success with baby oil/cocoa butter/whatever during this time because the scar is naturally healing/fading, and this process usually coincides with the period in time people are desperate to reduce teh stretch mark.

So to them the natural process of the scar healing MUST be happening because of the ointments.

No, it's just naturally what scars do over time.

The best & only treatment for stretch marks is to come to terms with the fact you will have them forever, possibly a psychologist can help you with this process.

> Are you implying that if you lose all of your body fat that your skin magically shrinks instantly? That shit takes time.

no, and I have no idea why you brought this up.

his tissue is laden with fat, that's not loose skin.

he has some laxity, sure.

comes back to the old rule of thumb: if you can pinch and inch it's fat.

loose skin is so fine you can roll it between your fingers, it's like a cm thick.
>>
>>35622106

the loose skin is that lower most crease over your abdominals & around your belly button.

whatever you can pull off with 2 finger tips and roll around between them = the loose skin.

the majority of that is fat.
>>
>>35622106
can I ask from the before and after of your weight and how long did you take to get there ?
>>
USE COCOA BUTTER

389lb start, 187lb lowest. ~5 years.

Right now at 214 coming back down from ~225 after trying to fill out my arms and chest a bit over the winter. i was not very successful.
>>
>>35622184

Wow, to be fucking honest man you should be pretty grateful your body let the grudge of you losing 200 lbs go that lightly.

You're well within the range of the guy in OP in terms of weight loss, you got off very lightly compared to him.

This picture should if nothing else serve to provide a realistic expectation of loose skin even with 100s of lbs lost.
>>
>>35622122
great progress dude, you're lucky for not getting so much loose skin, god, I'm so glad I never got fat, only slightly chubby in my childhood...
>>
>>35622184
amazing man, what a great work

Thanks for sharing that i really appreciate it
