When training for volume, should I do the absolute max I can rep for 12x3, or should I take lighter weights so I can do a more perfect rep and really feel the burn.
What I'm asking really is; should I focus on feeling the burn and the pump when going for volume?
Oh, woops, I forgot this board has become a fucking meme, you don't come here to discuss weightlifting or fitness, you post "Sir" comics and talk about spilling your spaghetti at the grocery store.
Answer my fucking question /fit/!

12x3 to me seems uneccessary. 12 sets for only 3 reps ? For that kind of workout you'd have to start with pretty light weight, and feel nothing for the first 5-6 sets, practicly a warmup.
What I'd rather do is increase weight and do 8x3 but this is coming from a powerlifting perspective, I dont really care for the whole "chasing the pump" thing.

You mean size?

What's the goal of your workout? Strength? Hypertrophy? Trap-mode? Are you on sterons?
If you are natty, do 5x5 and Max out every other week.

It depends on the exercise and the training goal. For compounds, where you're aiming for performance carryover improvements or mastering a movement, form is most important.
For accessory work or isolations, or when the goal is increasing workload capacity, improving muscular recruitment or focal hypertrophy, feeling the pump or burn has benefit. This is just in my experience and from things I've read, no source to cite

Hypertrophy like all hell, I could'nt give less of a shit about strength anymore, however I am natty because I'm scared by chemicals.
>>35592154
I don't know where I have this from, but It's stuck with me for 2 years of training, 8 to 12 reps for 3 sets... fuck if i know why

Thx breh

Shut the fuck up reddit, do you have any idea where you are?

See, people were confused when you said 12x3, because the first number is sets the second is reps by standard. 3x12 is 3 sets of 12 reps. Btw, you're a fucking faggot, OP.

What the fuck, I've been writing it wrong all this time? Sorry for mass confusion, and also, fuck you faggot
>>35592411
Yes, you have. Also, it depends on your goals. Strength requires near perfect form all the time, hyperthrophy doesn't. Even Mr. Arnold did cheat curls. Cheating on the deadlift only leads to injury, you idiotic cunt.

Just eat enough fiber and you should be good

Yeah, depends on what seems interesting. Proper breathing, proper posture and stretches to fix poor form (flexibility is top level.. increases muscle mass potential, etc.)
