Is consuming milk and soy/tofu increasing Estrogen just a meme? Does it matter if they even do?

Do any foods increase Test? If so does it even matter if you've passed puberty?

Its almost entirely a meme. Its in the same category as aspartame - there's a few studies suggesting an effect, but they all involve fucking ridiculous dosages that you could not possibly reach with dietary intake.
>>
the Japanese eat plenty of it, and before they got cucked in 1945, they were manly crazy psycho bastards so I'm sure it's fine.
>>
I wonder this about plants and such in general, especially phytic acid.

>asians eat plenty of it
>have for years

>they're skinny manlet underdeveloped turds
yeah soy is great

Technically, ancient eastern philosophy was to eat no soy.
>>
The hormone levels in milk are exceedingly low. pseudoestrogens in soy products are rather higher. But only so much that I would avoid feeding an infant soy baby formula, not so much that I would say that an adult should not consume soy.

Nailed it.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/17416779/

>We recruited healthy male volunteers 18 years of age or older that were in good health. Treatment consisted of consuming two scoops (56 g) of pure soy protein powder (Puritan's Pride, Oakdale, NY) daily for 28 days. Serum testosterone and luteinizing hormone (LH) levels were collected on days -7, 0, 14, and 28 of therapy, and day 42. A reporter estrogen receptor (ER) assay was used to determine the effect on ER-beta and ER-alpha in vitro.

>Serum testosterone decreased 19%(+/-22%) during the 4-week use of soy protein powder (P = 0.021) and increased within 2 weeks after we discontinued soy protein powder.

>just a meme

>not eating tempeh

Uses the whole bean so it's more nutritious than tofu and it's fermented so it has a fraction of the phytoestrogens

Tastes awesome in stir fry

>The mean ± SD of testosterone was 411 ± 175.82 ng/dL (range 198 to 872 ng/dL) at the start of therapy, 393 ± 194.24 ng/dL (range 182 to 759 ng/dL) at day 28, and 438 ± 95.46 ng/dL (range 263 to 587 ng/dL) at day 42, 2 weeks after treatment was discontinued (Fig. 1 ). One subject was started on study with a serum testosterone below the normal reference range (241-827 ng/dL), and it returned to the reference range at day 42; otherwise, the serum testosterone did not decrease below the normal reference range in any subject.

Tempeh is legit

I eat edamame sometimes, it's yummy

>411 ng/dl before soy protein
>393 ng/dl during soy protein
>438 ng/dl after soy protein

That little 18 ng drop looks like it's probably just natural hormone fluctuation.

That reference range is fucking awful.

Textured soy protein is perfect /fit/ food.
It's similiar to ground beef but it has way better macros.

Macros in 100g:
>335 kcal
>49.2g protein
>20.9g carbs
>2.4g fat
>15g fiber

>Finally, our data also raise concerns about the effects of soy phytoestrogens on normal physiology, especially for over-the-counter products that are unregulated and may have higher concentrations of phytoestrogens.

Is it worth the risk, lads?

Milk is like 40% already.
