I'd say make sure your knee tracking is good, keep your knees aligned with your toes. If your cant do that then Deload and force your knees out.

Squat: worked up to a clean 5pl8 daily max. I'm having a bit of a hard time not getting intimidated by 5 plates even if I know based on feel it won't be a grinder. I guess it's the same as when 4pl8 was nearly my max, and it will just take some time for it to be normal weight.

Front squat: hit 315x3 again today. Feeling more regular, abs still don't like it.

Dips: 3x5 with 15lbs added

Had to go to class, gonna do some incline DB bench, side raises, and face pulls when I get out.

Ok so i need help.

I have been having problems keeping lower back straight during DLs. I tried to fix it for a few months, lost hope and tried sumo deadlifts. It fixed the problem and i feel much better setting up, and my strength is same as with conventional now. But the problem is that im not actually doing sumo, im doing some kind of semi sumo conventional deadlift. It feels good and i'd like to stick to it since i can keep a neutral back easily with it, but everywhere i go i see pple telling to learn how to sumo deadlift and not use all back (even when you are not actually using back dynamically if it doesn't round).

So what do? Stick to my weird form that feels good, or try to learn conventional again or try to change it to full sumo? I'm not going to compete, i just want to get stronger and i like squats, pulls and bench.

the connection is not in terms of 'cheating the lift', but more so which lift is better for achieving a well rounded lifter, in spite of the extra weight you may/may not have with the other form.

if the goal is general strength, conventional deadlifts are the better lift to train than the sumo.

same with bench, you may lift a bit more with an excessive arch, but will not have as good as a carry over to general strength as a full ROM bench press.

I'm of the unpopular opinion that crossfit isn't the devil. If you want to try it, try it. Everyone should train because they enjoy it.

I'm also of the opinion that crossfit isn't the best way to train for crossfit. You'd probably be best off on a barbell based strength program, with some bodyweight accessories for volume, and some regular cardio and conditioning work. just practicing one of their workouts once or twice per month.

I fucking knew better. EVERY INTUITION I HAD knew better than to bench press today, but I just couldn't fucking stay away from it.

I don't know what sort of fucking niggerfaggot bullshit is going on but I failed a 365 lb bench. thats a 90% single. TWICE. AFTER RUNNING A FUCKING 5 WEEK PEAKING BLOCK.

then i got fucking pissed and threw a plate which bounced back and landed on my foot which is now swollen and hurts like a genuine cunt.

then I cried.

Now the only thing holding me together is the fact that i recently submitted an application for graduation and paid my last fees.

I have never, ever felt more fucking useless and stupid in my life. its seriously the most uncomfortable combination of pure anger, self loathing, depression and apathy I have ever fucking felt. I KNEW BETTER. I KNEW I WOULDN'T EVEN WANT TO KNOW THE RESULTS AND WHAT IT WOULD DO TO ME MENTALLY AND I FUCKING DID IT ANY WAYS. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY.

/v/ here, trying to stop being a weak shit and actually build some muscle.
Is it awful if I use multiple lightweight dumbbells in the same hand? I only have 3kg/6lbs dumbbells, but I can use those for quite a while before I even feel a burn. I use both of them at the same time and strap 1kg of additional weight to arms, then do reps of 20.
I'm not destroying my arms by doing this, am I?
