My garage: $0/month
>>
Retro fitness. color scheme looks like mcdonalds but it's only 20 bucks a month.
>>
Anytime Fitness. $30 a month. Some of them don't have barbells, but there's one about five miles away from me that does, and in the hours I go there, I can be a loud meathead lunk and there won't be anyone there to complain.

Used to go to Lifetime fitness, stopped because money, then went to LA fitness which was great and only $25 a month, but they changed their hours and close too early now.

TMS gym, it's completely free. You sign a waver and get a code.
It's a pretty good gym, most of the people that go are there to actually lift.
Occasionally DYELs from the highschool down the street come in and pick up a few dumbells, hit the punching bag a few times, 1 set of bench with 1pl8 then they leave.
Also, the music works by whoever gets there first gets to plug their phone in and play their tunes on the surround sound. So it sucks when some bro plays shitty country or shitty Avenged Seven-fold type bands
>also bring my headphones

home gym, one time payment of roughly 200-300$ for decent weights and a bench

fellow /ymca/ bro

$30/mo USD.

The facility we have here is fucking great. Kids pool, sauna, hot tub, lap pool (I do laps as my warm-up cardio usually, great all-body exercise), two full size basketball courts, 1/4 mile indoor track above the basketball courts, pool tables, rock climbing wall, yoga / community rooms, and naturally an amazing weight room.

>>

Love the y. There's a great lap pool and hottub that nobody is ever in, and it feels great to swim after you lift. Also everyone wipes down the equipment and reracks weights and the staff is generally friendly and helpful.

Fit 4 Less (Ottawa)
$20/month after a $35 sign up fee. They don't even have showers - just closets you can change in.

I'm going for the first time tomorrow (university cancelled my gym membership since I'm no longer a student). Any Canadabros know if I've made a terrible mistake?

Home Gym Hero.

>>35570033
My total setup was pretty inexpensive.

I got a 300 pound CAP crap olympic set during a sale for $150. If you floor press and do front squats, that's all you need to get started. I got a Squat stand for $100 off of craigs list. For Christmas, everyone bought me a 45 pound, so now I have enough for 5pl8s. I got a bench for Christmas last year. It's a fully adjustable olympic bench which would have cost me $200.

I'm all set forever. I might break down and buy a foldable squat rack that bolts into the wall.

Gold gym in Kyoto, 4/5 times a week.
Same shit, gym is cool but way too expensive, and pt hates and ignore me since i'm staying only till March (and also For being unfit gaijin). It was my first time in a gym, if it was for them i would still be doing random machines with no weight on em--> total waste of time.
Thank goodness I have a fit brother to ask to

Forge Fitness, Crystal Lake IL (best gym in midwest) and it's $10 for me cuz i'm an OG member but i think its $20 for everyone else. It's also 24/7. literally never closes.

I go to probably the most stacked gym on /fit/, comparable to Gold's Venice - minus all the dyels. There is 2 other huge fitness centers in the town, where all the DYELS and kids go because there's basketball, pools, ect. My gym has probably 9-12 power/squat racks, like 2-3 dumbell sets, at least 15-20 benches (to sit on) and around 5 bench presses (2 incline and 2 decline too), as well as various weird strongman lifting shit in the basement, and ropes and multiple small sprint strips (idk why i think they use them for classes in strength and conditioning) in a relatively small compound. I've been lifting there since it opened in 2013 (OG Member fuck yea), and 95% of the people who sign up are just out of their fuckin mind jacked. Like bigger than 95% of /fit/ jacked. I'm bigger than ottermode (6' 190lbs) and am constantly dwarfed by everyone around me. It's like it's a BB/PL gym now. We even have those big ass fuckin stones that strongmen use. I've never seen such a large congregation of huge people, my gym is literally comparable to the lobby of a bodybuilding show. The gym isn't pretty and doesn't have any amenities but it has heart. I bet I could get gear from 90% of people in there at any time.

>:,^) tears of joy for the best gym in the midwest
