I have long arms, short torso, and long legs. Deadlift life is amazing but my bench is suffering.

Having trouble getting an arch at all while keeping my heels on the ground. Tried oly shoes and it still made no difference. I go through all the effort to set up an arch just for my back to go flat anyways after I set my feet. Been working on thoracic mobility for 1.5 years and I am still seeing no progress.

I just quit. there's no reason to bother with bench or deadlift. Bench is at an equal level to squat, and deadlift is about 2-3x worse than squat.

No reason to fuck around with benching while theres football games on, and no reason to risk injury on deadlift like I know will happen.

for what its worth, the "transmutation phase" is what ruined everything. Everything was going fine during the accumulation phase, I even hit PR's on squat and bench. then i couldn't handle the fatigue of transmutation, due to both overtraining AND i couldn't stay mentally engaged with the program. both of those are just an extension of me being a garbage athlete.


If i could have skipped the 3rd block and went straight to the peaking phase, I think this could have done me much better. I also should have actually watched my nutrition. it was absurdly retarded to get as fat as I did.

I'm definitely done with powerlifting for a while.

I am in a sorta similar situation, maybe not as bad.
I'm the guy who posted in /BAKA/ about not being able to recover after 1 lift.

Basically every 1 in 4 sessions is a good session for me, the other 3 I get fatigued easily and stall everything. I only really ever progress on that 4th session, and when I do I have fun and really enjoy life, when I have the other sessions I feel discouraged.

I just wanted you to know that there's no point getting hung up on bad sessions, you may as well only appreciate the good sessions because those are the ones that get you far.

I don't know. I hope it ends up well for you.

1051 repetitions of squat.

1843 repetitions of bench press.

1041 repetitions of deadlift. 3935 repetitions combined. this doesn't include the warmups I did myself, which I would say at least 25% of each of those numbers on in addition.

Are you fucking stupid? Look, I get depressed too. When I sumo deadlift it hurts my fucking legs so much I have to lie down because I can't walk on my aching legs, then with just a day of recovery I have to do squats.

Lifting is a struggle. If you can't handle that much volume, do less, simple as man. If you're not eating a large surplus, getting at least 8 hours of sleep a night, and using tested maxes on the Sheiko spreadsheet, then what do you expect?

I turn red almost immediately because of how hard I brace. Figured it was at least a little high. Shitty angle and quality make it hard to be sure though. I judge depth from how much I compress into my belt on the descent. The holidays made me a bit fluffy, so it makes sense I'm high. Time to drop the weight, calories, and depth I guess.

Yeah they're fabric. But they're basically the same shit tie down straps for 18wheelers are made of, and 2-3 layers thick. I've dropped 5pl8 on them with no problem.

Getting a stronger back is always a solid option, and good strength with shit form isn't good strength imo. Don't worry about the strength loss if you plan to stick with sumo, because it will come back anyways. You're going to have to keep in mind low back strength may be something you need to work on as you progress, even with sumo.

Roughly about a month ago I was on vacation in sunny California. I thought it would be cool to frequent a couple gyms while there. This went on for about a week and overall I had a great experience, however, during one of my visits to a local University Gym, something struck me as odd. And, well, quite frankly it didn't sit well with me either. You see there was this child there. And what I'm about to tell you might make you a bit sick in the stomach from pure disgust of this child. So don't say I didn't warn you. So, anyways, this child, maybe about 5'5 in stature, about 140lbs, face riddled with acne and pimples (more craters than our moon has) with disgusting fashion-less overgrown hair, was marching around the gym announcing to everyone the weight in which he was about to lift. He made sure to specify the wilks of the lift too so as to appear more impressive. At first I laughed as I thought it was a joke. SURELY, no child in there right mind would be this delusional. It quickly became apparent he wasn't joking as he made this announcement for every, single, fucking set he did for those two hours.

At first the people at the gym tried to ignore him and carried on with there own thing. That's when this child got out a stool and stood on it (so he could be at eye level with me and the rest of the people) with a microphone and shouted "IM ABOUT TO PERFORM A ONE REP MAX OF 270LBS BENCHPRESS". When no one in the entire gym looked impressed he began fuming and repeating that statement over and over again. Finally, someone asked if he could lower the volume to his microphone, he ran up to this man (who was about twice the size of him) and said "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME YOU LITTLE BITCH, MY BENCH WILKS IS SUPERIOR TO YOURS, I AM BUT THIS STRONGEST MAN HERE AND AM AN EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE PERSON, PROBABLY THE SMARTEST MAN IN ALL OF AMERICA AND THE STRONGEST MAN IN MY COUNTRY FOR MY EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE WEIGHT CLASS OF 74KGS. I KNOW ALL OF THIS BECAUSE I CAME IN FIRST PLACE AT MY LOCAL MEET SO DO NOT FUCK WITH ME. The other man was taken a back and went back to his workout benching around 4 plates. I then took my gatorade and poured it on this childs face and his face started producing even more pimples immediately and some puss started running in his eyes and mouth. He ran away crying but not before saying he will be back tomorrow showcasing his best lift (the squat) of 4 plates. I think his name was Martin Brenner.

Not only does hand timing require a conversion, but the margin for error is huge.

Which is why "about 4.4" is not convincing. That means you rounded your actual time.

Even in the 100m, you read your time to the hundredths.

With hand time conversion, your 40 is probably closer to 4.65-4.70, if only for reaction time.

Do you have any useful measurement of speed for reference? 100m time? 400m time?
