Idk, your understanding of the word is not what mine is. For me, overcompensating is when you try to make up for a lack of certain qualities by doing over the top superficial stuff.
Training is not overcompensating, because it serves the purpose of improving yourself. Overcompensating is when you show off your new body in a exaggerated way. Overcompensating is when you buy things you can't really afford to impress others. Overcompensating is when you constantly overdress and/or dress in a excessively flashy way to make up for your lack of charisma. Overcompensating is when you swear a lot and act in an aggressive way to compensate for your lack of confidence.

Started lifting in tenth grade. Didn't really make a lot of muscle more so strength. I started off I'm on my bastardized version of a routine Elliot barely explained. I eventually learned to do proper research and discovered SS and continued my journey. It eventually influenced me to study more talk to girls etc Honestly I probably would have killed my self or became a fat slob without lifting.
