hey /fit/

how do you know when you should consider cutting?

I'm 6'7'' and am currently about 252 lbs after starting lifting skinny-fat at like 219 lbs. I've been lifting for about 2 years.

Anyways, at which point should you consider cutting? I'd like to look decent by summer, but I'm not sure if I should consider working on my lifts and putting on more mass.

by the looks of your body youre about 20-30 pounds away from otter

Id start in March, maybe April
>>
so you've only put up 30 pounds in 2 years?

What do you do at the gym?
Anyway, train harder, longer, eat more and eat better. 33 pounds in 2 years for a 6'7 frame is laughable

I was thinking probably late March-April as well.

As someone who's never seriously cut... I got noob questions on that.

I'm currently on a ~4100 or so, surplus calorie diet. To maintain muscle, I plan on getting my necessary protein to maintain muscle, but should I simply just add about 30 minutes of daily cardio to bring my calories down to a deficit? Or should I both cut my calorie intake and add cardio? Thanks

i agree. my first year of working out I wasn't really on a serious diet up until about like 7 months ago. I also am in a full-time job where i'm on my feet 9 hours a day, so its been hard eating ENOUGH food... It's been pretty difficult filling out my tall frame. I've definitely gotten stronger and bigger, but I don't like my bloated ~18-21% body fat look that I currently have. So I guess thats my questions.

Disregard body fat, continue to bulk up to like 270 lbs, get stronger, and then cut.

Or maybe start cutting in the spring, actually look semi-decent over the summer and start bulking in the fall again.

how often do you work out and what routine do you follow?

I work out 5-6 days a week.

I've done a variety of workouts, but most recently I started another Push-Pull-Leg routine. usually ABCABCrest.

I have done 0 cardio, but I do walk around 4-7 miles daily at work.
