I've never done it but I don't know why people make it such a big deal. Just sit in the very back if you're worried about people judging you.

I do it all the time because I like weird movies and there's no point dragging people to shit they won't enjoy. It's a little bit awkward when you go see something that only has like 4-5 people watching it, and you're there alone.

I saw Avatar alone because I really wanted to see it in the cinema. It's no big deal. Sure, it can be a social outing, like eating, but it doesn't have to be.
